Uhhhh ... I'm sure someone will come to me ... maybe ... uhhh ... hmmm ...
You know, there were quite a few characters last gen I'd give this label.

Since I've already brought them up in different context, how about Kain and Raziel?
Kain becomes a vampire, rules for millenia and ruins the wings of his son because he's apparently offended that the son evolved before he did so.While Raziel does embark on a journey to kill his brothers and Kain, things are far from what they seem and it eventually concludes in the revelation that Kain has a device that enables time travel.
Plot twists are of no shortage from there on.....
Raziel is grown as one of Kain's lieutenants and ends up comitting something akin to sacriliege by evloving before his master does, in growing wings. Kain tears the wings apart and sends Raziel to his doom, where he becomes a malicious vampire spirit with the ability to assume physical form.
These two and their intertwined stories have more depth and character than anything we've seen this gen. Obviously their game were among the best released last gen. Last one did suffer from being more inspired by GoW than Zelda though.
Does'nt change that Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen did indeed start a legacy and both Soulreaver 1 and 2 carried it on their shoulders in an amazing way. This series was actually pretty damn good till the very end, last itteration just happened to suffer from lack of ambition and the harsher criticism at the time.
If anything deserves a HD remake it's Legacy of Kain: Soul reaver and onwards. I'd love another Blood Omen but it's isometric and has to be rebuilt entirely to fit in.
Sometimes, maybe it's better to let the glorious dead rest however.....
Edit: And while these games were not Sony exclusives, this is the franchise that should have killed Zelda. Between excellent writers, varied gameplay mechanics and amazing voice acters, OoT had nothing on these games, in terms of quality, unless you remember the N64 Zeldas with drugged eyes that is ;)
the First two (Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain and Legacy of Kain: Soulreaver) were PSX games and the franchise continued to it's end on PS2 and XBOX.
We praise Nintendo and Zelda daily, I'm just here to remind you that people used to create similar games and some of them were better.
If you played the first Soul Reaver, there is no way that you did not anticipate and ultimately indulged in the sequels-
