Man I love these games. there are other developers I love but these developers have stood the test of time for me as a gamer. What about you, SW? What developers make your top 5?

My fav. dev is Nippon Ichi Software. Others I like are Blizzard, Firaxis, OmegaForce, Gamefreaks and Nintendo. Probably forgot a few. There are devs I liked in the past, like Konami or Square(Enix), but they lost their position in the last decade

Cool kids like me say pre-EA Bioware.

Obsidian scored points for me with Pillars and New Vegas, to the point I threw money at them for PoE 2 development...and I'm one of the "never, ever preorder" people.

Annnd that's kind of it. I love tons of games but not necessarily more than a few per developer. I absolutely loved Nioh for example. But I'm not into Dead or Alive. So should Team Ninja be in my top 5? I love the effort they put into their games. I suppose favorite developer is as much about their philosophy and attitude as their games. Which is why CD Projekt RED and Thekla make it so high into my top 5. I absolutely love the way Kojima thinks about games, but his new studio Kojima Productions hasn't made anything yet... so putting that in my top 5 would be weird.

Blizzard used to be a top 3 dev in my book but they seriously diverged from the path. The always online debacle with Diablo 3, no console changes into the PC version of Diablo 3, the DLC that timed out in Hearthstone, the DLC ridden WoW. I feel like they have kind of hurt me as a gamer.

Konami has really botched it. They don't want to make games... They don't even want employees, it seems like. They left to play Pachinko with a big **** you to gamers. They can't seriously be in anyone's top 5 anymore. And Valve... they don't make games anymore. Hi-Rez should be mentioned. They are great at making games. But man, they suck at keeping them alive. They could be in that top 5 if they didn't kill off Tribes the way that they did. A bit like ArenaNet and Daybreak Game Company that most of you probably don't even know about (!) they are excellent game developers, but so absorbed by one game kind of in the past, that they're slowly sinking into obscurity. It would be great if they could work on multiple games. So... That's kind of it.

This would've been so much easier a few years ago. Now my list consists of Nintendo, pretty much. Maybe From Software, as well.

Valve don't make games anymore and therefor can't be in my list.
Blizzard keeps going with their WoW stuff that I have no interest in, they fucked up Diablo and I find Overwatch quite overrated.
Intelligent Systems have some awesome games in their history, but their latest Paper Mario efforts are horrible.
Ubisoft are now just plain bad.

I like a lot of devs, but many of them have only made like 1 or 2 games. Like Edmund McMillen, Team Meat and Yacht Club Games.
