Who else forgot about PS3 trophies?

I was playing my PS3 today and suddenly, blimp, a trophy popped up and I was like "what?" and then I was like "oh" I unlocked a trophy. Over the time I completely forgot about the PS3 trophy, it's like they're hiding away and not wanting you to know about them. The achievements and Steam achievements are more standout compare to trophies IMO. So who else forgot that PS3 has trophies.

Please I'm not a fanboy since I own both PS3 and 360 along with a gaming laptop and a DS and I play them all respectively.

Not me. I currently have 5 plats and am working on plating RDR. I wonder why Gamespot lets you show off your achievements in your profile but not trophies? That kind of sucks...

Well I play I got some games that were before trophies and I usually just messing around in fighting and racing games.

How can I forget, they pop up anytime you beat a game or do anything while playing a PS3 game? Obviously the higher trophies need work to get but every game offers the easy first few trophies for completing the game or a level or doing something that is far from remarkable. The only way I could forget about them is by not playing anything NEW on my PS3.

I haven't forgot about Trophies, but I have missed them when they have been rewarded before. Sometimes, the little ding sound gets missed, and since they are in the far upper right corner of the screen I don't see them pop up.

Achievements on the other hand are hard to miss they are right in front of you, and the sound when they go off is hard to miss.

Not at all. I still pay attention to them regularly.

you can disable the notifications for achievements and friends coming online on the 360 though, its particularly usefull if your trying to watch a movie on it, you dont want a notification every 5 minutes. sts106mat

I have managed to completely blank out achievements, sometimes my wife tells me when I get one when Im in that frame of mind. That said I have been achievement hunting recently so I have been a bit more aware of them :P.

Haha nah, I've playing Tekken 6 and BFBC2, I platinum'd T6 when it first came out and been playing BFBC2 online alot but no trophies had pop up, andtoday I was playing Blazblue CS and suddenly a wild trophy appeared. Plus I got hooked playing Reach and Mass Effect and those cheap indie games Steam got.

Sorry, I can't relate at all. I have 100,000+ Gamerscore on 360, and Have over 2500 Trophies for PS3, with 47 of them Being Platinum's.

I actually found that I started caring more about my Trophies than Achievements. They're more appealing too me personally for some reason.

Forget em? I love them, I'm just happy Sony created a system that destroys Gamerscore, Trophies are so much better and more complete. Leveling up, bronze, silve gold and plat trophies make each one feel unique, not just "numbers" BORING! Trophies own hard. I hope M$ changes Gamerscore and gives it sme sort of an update, it feels outdated. Insecticidius

pfft good luck with that:P. I honestly dont have the patiance to try and plat that game. Mainly cause it involes playing the mini games like the gambleing stuff. On topic no I never forget about them hell I look forward to seeing the list of trophies for upcoming games to see if it will be a headace to unlock a plat. Majority of the time online trophy screw me out of a plat. In my eyes trophys and achivements are the same thing. I just personaly enjoy trophies a bit mroe cause its basicly a game within a game with the whole experiance bar and leveling up.

You press x on thier names and then you should see compare trophies.

Me? forget about trophies? im at trophy level 13 i never foget about triphies :P

Steam achievements are not noticeable. For one, it's at the bottom right of your screen and pops up in a small box. I have almost 85% of the achievements for CS Source and I don't remember getting probably 75% of that.

At least with trophies you get a sound to alert you.

Nope, I got carried away maybe, and trophies are less appealing to me and I never check them. I eventually forgot about them since I don't play my PS3 much lately, waiting for KZ3 and Infamous 2and MvC3.

I could careless about trophies, but for some reason I will go out of my way for achievements, I almost bought the new castlevaina for 360 even though it had frame rate issues just for the achievements, I ended up getting the ps3 version, and am wishing I would have just got the 360 one. I really dont know why I care either way, but I do.

Well, not me i'm very aware of trophies as i've been trying to reach to lvl 1o which i just did yesterday.
