It's going to get a 9 unless they really really like the new online features. In that case 9.5. They shouldn't be giving this game a 10 at the very least because it doesn't seem to be much of an improvement in the core gameplay. And no adding weapons and grenades doesn't change anything. There's many PC games where basic mods that add a lot more than that to the game.
I'd laugh my ass of if it got an 8.5 (which I don't think it has a shot in hell of getting)........It wouldn't matter anyways, I'm getting it no matter what and it will be the same game regardless of what they review it.
Maybe I'll just buy it, play through it, and then come back and see what the score is afterwards. You know, why not right, it's not like the review score will change my decision to purchase it anyways.

IF it gets a 9.8 or 9.9 in the old sytem then it means it gets a 10 in the new sytem...so does that make it a tad easyier.
oh yea and one more thing now that the new review sytem is based on more of how you enjoyed the game rather then sound,tilt,value,ect... that makes it easyier to score a perfect 10.

That's not necessarily true. A 10 is still a 10. It's not as though they score the game in the old system (like give it a 9.7 or 9.9) and then round it to the nearest half. A 10 in the new system is just as a 10 was in the old system.

they don't review it with giving it a 9.8 or 9.9 in mind anymore. they review it thinking either 9.5 or 10. it's not easier.

yea it does....halo one would of gotten the perfect 10 if it had halo 2's single player.
I think Single Player is the thing Halo: CE had the edge over Halo 2.

With all they've shown of the massive improvements to multiplayer with FORGE, plus the impressive additions to the single-player campaign, Halo 3 gets far too much hatred for being a sequel. People dismiss it reflexively, and I think that's a mistake. Just like all the people who said "Killzone 1 sucks, therefore Killzone 2 must suck", there's really a sense that they've missed the memo.
For example, Halo 2 supported full game logging via Bungie's website - that feature has been taken even further, and the customization for multiplayer gaming (not even counting FORGE) is massive. Add-in that the single-player campaign is equally impressive to the multiplayer (unlike, say, Halo 2) and I'd say Halo 3 is at least earning its ridiculous number of preorders.
I don't know if I'll be joining the Halo 3 craze or not, but this is an impressive FPS, especially for a console. FORGE is basically a multiplayer level editor, which is incredible. Were this on PC, it would be considered cool, and on a console, it's even more impressive.
I do not think Halo 3 will be recieving a 10 score, that's a rarity and perhaps even an impossibility these days, but I would say this game is likely to get a high review score. Halo 3 gets so much criticism leveled at it simply *because* it's Halo that the score calls gets ridiculous. If this game were called "Spartan Wars" and Halo 1 and 2 had never come out, we'd think this was the next epic FPS.
In any case, to get a 10, Halo 3 has to be perfect. They're not rounding up a 9.8 or even a 9.9, if it's not perfect, it will recieve a 9.5. I just take all of the magnificient hype of Halo 3 with a grain of salt - even the hype I'm putting out there. With all they're putting into the game, there's a lot for them to focus on, and that leaves room for error.
