who else thinks that ps3 selling 165 K in one week is a lie....

we all heard that its the "fastest selling console in europe" but do i really believe that just because Sony came out and said so?

 i personnaly think it is BS. why?

1. go into ANY store in london or in the UK, they ALL have atleast 20 instock.

2. go in and ask..."how well are they selling". the sales assistant will probably think it hasnt even come out yet.

3. if what sony is saying is true, if it is the fastest selling console...why the F are most retailers dropping its price unofficially? wouldnt they want more profit?

i dont hate the ps3, i hate its creators...sony.

im not a fanboy i will probably end up owning all consoles (only one missing right now is the ps3)

well. i live in England (Leeds) and have several games stores around me. 360 games. Gamestation. and GAME are my main ones. anyway. i visit each every week or two and just thismorning i thought id ask on the progress (as i dont personally believe it was revieved very well)

GAME-the guy replied " oh, yeah, we've done OK with the PS3. we've sold 4 since launch and contine to sell 1, maybe 2 a week. we just got a new supply yesterday, and so far, have left them in the stockroom, as there are still 16 left over there"(reffering to the pyramid at the window.) (i personally thought they were for display but apparently they are the actual ones lol)

 Gamestation- " well, we just sold one. But overall i think we maybe stretching to around 6-7 sold now? were still on the launch supply, and the midnight launch, basically sucked, we sold 2. with 3 people waiting outside thinking it was a shipment of Wii's" (lol spaz's)

360 Games- " we sold out! but we got some more in just thismorning. so far we sold the 5 we originally got in, which were bundle packages"

in disbelief of how crap the sales are, i questioned several people at WHSmiths, where they have recently dropped the price.

WHSmiths- "we have around 12 in stock, and we are yet to sell our first unit. were constantly asked about the Wii though, but i havent seen one of those in months. do they still sell those things?" ( i was asking a women. lol)

well. my 2 cents are that SONY was lying unless they soldout everywhere else in England?

 i mean, your comparing a system that was meant to launch 1 month before the Wii. but instead, was delayed for 5 months in europe (so much for being good at stock keeping >_>) to a console that launched within two months world wide...

so sony had 4-5 months to get their act together and make a lot of stock.

Ya but since that 165k sales are dropping SO FAST. 2nd week after launch in UK PS3 sold 32k and 3rd week sold 17k. Also the 3rd week the Wii out sold it. Again the 3rd week in the best place PS3 luanched it was out sold by the wii.[QUOTE="xxThyLordxx"]

Yea. That tends to happen when you sell a whole bunch in Week 1.

The same owners aren't going to come back with another $600 in Week 2.

Those who didn't want it in Week 1 are not going to show up in Week 2.

And as rabid as hardcore video game fans are, they cannot give birth to gaming-crazed children in a span of 168 hours in hopes their children will boost Week 2 sales numbers.

You do know that PS3s are selling just as fast as Xbox 360s were... They just are able to keep them in stock, not run out every week because the store only gets 3 a week...
