Who else wants the PS3 to flop? Seroius thread.

Even if people want the PS3 to flop, its not like its going to do anything. The PS3 is the only one that can make the PS3 flop.

Ok, so how many 360-pc gamers do we have here?

How many of you like the look of GT5, MGS4, uncharted etc?
But cant justify spending $400 for 3-6 games (which is like the whole ps3 game libary)

So instead just want the ps3 to flop so the game are ported?

Your logic is flawed.

Having three consoles on the market is good for the industry, it creates competition, and keeps developer/publishers on their heels.

Wanting a console, specially one with such a storied background to flop because you don't get a certain exclusive, is just a bad reason.

Do you know why Sony dropped the price by 200 dollars in one year? The previous post explains it quite well.

So the exclusive games suck, it's overpriced and tanking in sales, and in general it's not doing good. But at least it's not possible for the PS3 to kill hardcore gaming like Nintendo is trying to do with the Wii. So if there is only one console I want to see disappear, it's the dreck that is the Wii.

THe PS3 is not going anywhere anytime soon, but on the other hand the 360 and M$ is in a very bad situation with the heavy compitition from the Wii and PS3 on the gameing front while there loseing consumer support from there OS market shares.jimm895

Doubt its a fad... being the hottest thing 2 years in a row at christmas time. Given it was released right before xmas so that kinda doesnt count. either way if it was a fad i think we see sales dropping far more but we simply arnt. Time will be the real judge.

PS3 owners say "Just wait" all the freakin' time for a reason. The library will get a lot better eventually.

The Wii is not a fad. Tell that to the 1.8million people that buy one every month. The Wii is the first machine to REALLY tap into the casual market successfully. It's here to stay, and stay it will.

Honestly i think we both are here, cause your right sony was way out to lunch with its initial price. If other companies had followed suit,ie overbuilding, we may have seen prices go up instead of down like what happened with car prices in the 90s.

How the heck does it create competition with 3 consoles? You can get the same competition with only 2. Wii, and PS3/360 would be prime. Since PS3/360 are so similar in the games they offer, whats the point in having them both? Most of the Sony games i want to play are PS2 games anyhow. As for competition, screw hardware, the competition should be amongst developers. Hardware is only a tool, if companies had a unified tool that was easy to develop for, then developers could focus on making good games.

GT5 has me getting one, that being said im a huge car nut and the GT games are among, if not they best racing game (besides the ferrari f1 game on dreamcast and SMK of course ;) )

Gt5 will be nice, but im not buying a ps3 to play a racing game when i can just play forza 2 and pgr4. Racing games just aren't console sellers to me, but whatever floats your boat :).

Just wow... seriously reread this and then look up what competition is. Like I understand the point your trying to make but you really didnt make a good arguement for this. Plus if there was only competion on one end of the spectrum the price would never drop on consoles or atleast must slower. Highre prices = lower installed base = crappier games (potentially)

Most of these Johnny Come Lately Fanboys arent, or never will be true gamers!!!! Wanting a console is to flop is about the same as wanting someone to stop farting!! For the record i owned over 15 different consoles over 20 years and loved them all.
