No, but with the Final Fantasy XIII anouncment it looks like I'll be buying a PS3 much later than I had originally planned.
At this point the only games on the platform I want are MGS4 and Im some what interested in Resistence. Of the future titles Im only interested in Little Big Planet and Final Fantasy Versus XIII. I'll likely end up getting one some day, but that time certainly isnt foreseeable.
I don't know about you, but the PS3 is looking like a more attractive buy as the days go on. It's dropping in price, bigger and better games are coming out, and it's constantly gaining hardware/software updates as well.-Jiggles-I'm sure if MS announced games that will come out in 2 years people would be all over their sacks as well..

Not on the console itself though.
I personally paid more for my 360 than I did for the PS3 with both being new.
Not nearly enough good JRPG's in the works (Disgaea 3 and WKC not enough), Agreed, though its hardly the only genre that matters.
focusing too much on shooters, Which are bad games why? X360's amazing 2007 was bore from shooters like Bioshock and Halo 3
given up on adding bc on new models, Agreed, though last generation games really shouldnt be a make or break thing with a console tbh.
no price drop, And yet has dropped its price far more than its competition?
not enough unique exclusives (LBP), Pixeljunk Eden? FLOWer? Fat Princess? Wipeout HD?
too expensive ($400 is too much for a console). And yet for $50 less, a console that supports no wi-fi, no HD media format and has a paid online service is a great deal?Bigboi500
I absolutley, completely, strongly disagree.
The ps3 has improved so much since day one.
Its gaming library is growing at a dramatic rate.
And, the price has dipped ridiculously low.
Sony is losing a ton of money per console.
The least you can do is support them.
I bought a ps3 the day it released, and don't regret it one bit.

Arcade. I don't download demos, don't have live gold, have only come across one game that requires the hard drive (GOTY Oblivion). I'm waiting for the 60 gig hd for the optional installs. Not nearly enough good JRPG's in the works (Disgaea 3 and WKC not enough), focusing too much on shooters, given up on adding bc on new models, no price drop, not enough unique exclusives (LBP), too expensive ($400 is too much for a console). Bigboi500I gave up completely when FF13 was announced for 360. What's the point now when I allready have 360? PS3's games don't look that amazing. LBP is an onling 2D platformer with level editor. Big deal. WK looks ok but how does it stand up against Fable 2, Infinite Undiscovery, Too Human and SO4? It can barely match even one of those games let alone all four. Killzone is hyped to be the great FPS on PS3 with killer graphics but then again so was HAZE. Forza 3 will hit stores before GT5 at this rate. Meanwhile it looks like Gears 2 will be the new king of games soon. PS3 is got my interest for a minute with MGS4 but don't even get me started on that movie with brief gameplay sequences.

FF13 will likely be released in late 2009,,, if even. So obviously youre lying
If anyone has given up on the idea of buying a PS3 at this point is thinking backwards. The PS3 is starting to finally stand on it's own, giving up on it now would be crazy to me.
But then again, it doesnt have alot of RPGs, which I dont care for... so if that's what someone is waiting for to buy a console then yeah, just go 360 at this point.
I have. The concept of owning both was rendered obsolete when the prize pig exclusive of the PS3 is being included on the 360. Right now it seems like a domino effect is happening & we might see more PS3 games going to the 360 in the near future. The sheer number of games on the 360 is steadily pulling away from the numbers on the PS3. $400 for a couple of exclusive games just isn't worth it.
My current theory is that it's betamax all over again. Japan/Sorny comes out with a high-tech, expensive system & America ignores it. Practicality beats expensive. Every time.
I don't mean forever, just the immediate future. I'll buy one when it's really cheap for games like Disgaea 3, LBP, and WKC. My PS2 is getting old so I was wanting a new bc PS3 so I wouldn't have to buy another PS2, but at $400 and a PS2 at $130 it's too much money. If anyone has given up on the idea of buying a PS3 at this point is thinking backwards. Also, about 75% of my game purchases are for rpg's.
I wanted to get a PS3, however its been too much of a disappointment, so I've decided I'll get a 360 before the end of 2008.
That way I got my Wii and 360 = Win.

didnt you get owned in a bet about MGS 4 scoring a 10, and then could not hold up your end of the bargain. that makes you a liar with zero crediblity in anything that you say. you made yourself insignificant on this forum. shame on you.

Other great exclusives. Costs too much? Do the math and compare the hardware included with the PS3 to the missing stuff in the 360. You have to pay extra for the 360 accessories to get to the PS3 level and in the end spend more on your 360. You're so smart dude.

No, it turns out the same, $400 for a new PS3, $300 for a new 360 premium, add $100 for a wifi thingy, and thats $400.[QUOTE="DJCUEBALL"][QUOTE="Bigboi500"] Not nearly enough good JRPG's in the works (Disgaea 3 and WKC not enough), focusing too much on shooters, given up on adding bc on new models, no price drop, not enough unique exclusives (LBP), too expensive ($400 is too much for a console). beast667

Back on topic though, I will wait a while to get a PS3, since I already own a 360 which has been keeping me pretty busy. I'm more or less waiting for a Shin Megami Tensei PS3 exclusive to buy one. Although if a new Twisted Metal game is announced (and it's like Twisted Metal Black (the only Twisted Metal I liked)) than I would definately get a PS3.

That's how much the 360 was...
I've given up for the time being since they completely removed B/C. I don't want to buy a used system and I don't think it's reasonable to buy a PS3 without the ability to play my stack of PS2 games. They'll hopefully bring back B/C eventually, and I'll be able to get one in the future. I'm definitely frustrated with Sony and their lack of commitment to it, and don't feel like they deserve $400. Fignewton50Agreed. Although I would have paid it to play FFXIII if I had to.

No, it turns out the same, $400 for a new PS3, $300 for a new 360 premium, add $100 for a wifi thingy, and thats $400.Nope because you have to buy AA batteries once you use up the ones it comes with. If you don't want to buy AA batteries, then you have to get the charger kit and you have to pay for Live.... so therefore it's more than the PS3 and the PS3 has Bluray.
Hence, the better deal is the PS3 because you can get multiplats on there with some great exclusives. I use my PS3 as my main machine, so far I only got the 360 for Halo 3 (overrated), Gears (good but too short) and will be getting Gears 2 and Mass Effect in the future.
Another tid bit.... If I want to upgrade my HDD, I can get any SATA 2.5 I want. I can get a 320GB for $99 instead of a 120GB for $150 or so. I can use my cellphone bluetooth headset with the PS3 also. I can use the PS3 or a PC to charge the controller and I can use the PS3 to cure cancer.... lol

L1qu1dSword
Metal Gear Solid 4, Killzone 2, Resistance 2, God of War III, and Littlebigplanet are all good titles that'll (most likely) stay exclusive to the console.
LBP is an onling 2D platformer with level editor. Big deal. L1qu1dSword
"Halo is just a primitive space marine shooter where you're a big man in high-tech armor shooting the crap out of ugly aliens who want to kill all of humanity for no apparent reason."
See what I just did there? It's called the strawman fallacy. Look it up sometime before opening your mouth.
WK looks ok but how does it stand up against Fable 2, Infinite Undiscovery, Too Human and SO4? It can barely match even one of those games let alone all four. L1qu1dSword
Really? Prove this to me and everybody else please, because, as far as I can tell, you're just undermining a game just because it's exclusive to the PS3. If it was on the Xbox 360, you would be praising the game and taunting Cows how they lost yet another exclusive. Double standard, much?
Killzone is hyped to be the great FPS on PS3 with killer graphics but then again so was HAZE.L1qu1dSword
So Killzone 2 is made by Free Radical all of a sudden? Last time I checked, every console has their flops, deal with it. Shadowrun was highly-anticipated to rival Counter-Strike, which is a huge honor within itself; look how well that game turned out.
Forza 3 will hit stores before GT5 at this rate.L1qu1dSword
That automatically makes it the better game? So, going by your logic, Full-Auto is the best driving game this generation, right?
Meanwhile it looks like Gears 2 will be the new king of games soon.L1qu1dSword
It'll most likely be a great game, but definiately not the king of games. That title belongs to Super Metroid.

Yeah I have a couple of friends that waited and waited to get a PS3. Once the PS3 had some good news, bad news followed and over shadowed the good news. One of my friend wanted a PS3 for MGS4, but I let him play it on mines, and within a couple of weeks he was glad he didn't cough up $500 bucks just for one game. And my other friend also wanted a PS3 for FFXIII but after news that the PS3 lost it's exclusivity to the 360, he felt like he had no need to get a PS3 right now or even this year. So they're just going to wait till 2009 to get one.
Also the PS3 cost $600 and $500 at launch, a year later or so there's still a $500 dollar one and a $400 sku, and come this September there will only be one PS3 sku with less ports and completely no BC at all for $400 bucks. Still the highest starting price for any console out now.

I would say you are in the minority thinking that though, the ps3 is now the second best seling console so it must be something its doing right!
I got the ps3 at launch but now its funally starting to catch up with the competition games wise, this year looks to be good which I think is the reason for the sales picking up.
I cannot believe so many people are still bothered about BC though. I thought I would be but I only used it once to see if it worked. Never use it now though. Though I was thinking of popping in TS3 for old times sake.

"Catching up?" Its only selling a small margin more and that is 100 percent because of the MGS4 sales spike. Think how much sales will spike for 360 with the price cut, Too Human, Fable2, SO4, Infinite Undiscovery AND of course Gears 2.
