I think they have all been shit this gen for the most part. I would give Sony the edge though based on the last 2 console generations, followed by Microsoft and then Nintendo.

It's been a while since I enjoyed anything from Nintendo so I'll have to go with Sony. Nintendo has talented devs but I feel their talents are being wasted on shitty Nintendo hardware. I'd love to see them develop something on some more capable hardware.

Surely it's a matter of personal preference. I don't care for Halo or Gears of War and don't particularly like Mario and Zelda so it's obviously Sony for me. A shooter fan or a platform game fan would probably answer differently.

Especially this gen, Nintendo has no competition. A Link Between Worlds, Super Mario 3D World, Tropical Freeze and Pikmin 3 are gods among children.

Sony by a lot. Nintendo haven't been able to come up with new franchises for a long time.

It's kinda the same way for me. I don't care for most of Sony's IPs outside of God of War and Killzone.

Nintendo on the other hand has more of the games that I like to play, which includes Mario, Smash Bros, Fire Emblem, Zelda, etc....

Nintendo's first party is obviously the answer here, but its not enough by itself to warrant buying a system.

After that I'd put MS over Sony because I like their franchises, and their games have more of the fun *soul* to them that I like in games, Sony makes technically proficient, tight, games, but I rarely have much fun with them..

Anyway.... I can't decide since they've both been pretty meh this gen. Naughty Dog is lame and so was the Wii Zelda. I'll go with Sony for R&C, then Switch it up to Nintendo once the next Zelda comes out.

I get my kicks in the 3rd party games these days.

I love my Xbox One, but to be honest none of their first-party output interests me.

Gears of War and Killer Instinct are pretty much the only Microsoft first-party franchises that I care for.

Fable is also on the list, but Microsoft killed that off.

Microsoft simply has not invested in first-party the way Sony or Nintendo have. Nintendo pretty much needs strong first-party to make sure their systems survive so they have put tons of money into their studios, and Sony has spent good money on investing their studios for first-party games since the PS1 (even if I don't care for most of their output)

Microsoft on the other hand gutted most of their studios last gen or lost them. It's pretty funny when you think that Destiny could have been an exclusive to the Xbox had they kept Bungie around.

Microsoft is paying the price now, and are having to play catch-up when it comes to first-party output.

With all that said, Scalebound looks pretty damn cool.

From Software went multiplat, and they were really the only ones.

EDIT: Oh, I suppose I enjoyed The Last of Us, but I didn't particularly enjoy Uncharted 2 or any of the others.

Have to go with Nintendo. Zelda, Mario, Pikmin, Animal Crossing, Smash Bros, Donkey Kong, Metroid, F-Zero, Mario Kart, Splatoon, Mario Maker, Star Fox, Fast Racing Neo. Sure some of those havent been that great for awhile but the IP's are all solid and can all become AAA quality.

Most Sony franchises, past-present-vaporware, have been top-tier mediocrity, no replay value and just plain boring as shyt. Most of them. And some of the ones I've enjoyed in the past are NO LONGER in existence.

I'm not a fan with kiddy type of games and platformers.. Also I'm pretty sick and tire of seeing or hearing Mario or Luigi so I have to pick Sony!

Nintendo easily. I respect that Sony has allowed for far more creative freedom, and as a result they at least pump out new ips. But their actual internal ips, are kind of unimpressive outside of Naughty Dog, and Naughty Dog is like good half the time. 2 of the Uncharteds were straight rubbish, and the 2 good ones, were just good. The Last of Us is legit though. Santa Monica? I only like one God of War game. Sucker Punch? Sly and Infamous is a string of okay, but not good games. Rentals at best. SCEJ, sucks unless it's an Ueda project. Media Molecule's LBP games are a cool level maker, but the actual mechanics are trash. Guerilla made one good multiplayer in Killzone 2, and then proceeded to ruin it with 3 and Shadowfall, and the campaign always sucked.

The wipeout cats don't work for them anymore, you can do better racing games than the cats who make Motorstorm or Driveclub.

I'm not fond of Nintendo's insistence that their best crew can only ever fucking do more mario, more zelda, more donkey kong, more smash bros, when every now and then they can do Splatoon, and that game is rad. But I'll give credit where credit is due. I'd much rather play Mario 3D World, Tropical Freeze, Smash Bros 4, a Link Between Worlds, Fire Emblem, over what I've gotten from Sony first party this gen that isn't Bloodborne. And Bloodborne is a product of From Software n Miyazaki being legit, less SCEJ.
