Who here loves their PS3?

I am going into Cow mode now.

Anyway the title says it all. Who here is happy with their PS3, and please tell us WHY you are happy with it.

I'll Start:

1. The games have really done a U-Turn are taking leaps and bounds over where they were 6months ago.

2. The price drop is good, which enables more people to buy the console.

3. Uncharted, UT3, GT5 Prologue, Rachet and Clank, Heavenly Sword, Assasins Creed, COD4, Haze, Folklore etc etc

4. A killer 2008 game line up

5. Finally started to advertise the PS3 properly on TV.

6. The Streaming and ability to copy torrent movies on to the system is great, along with upcoming DivX support will be great for those who like to watch your tv shows and movies without add breaks etc.

7. Multiplatform games finally starting to catchup and in some cases exceed the quality of the same game on 360

1.Best Media capabilities of ANY CONSOLE EVER.

4.Includes everything you need.Card readers,bunch of USB ports,removable harddrive that is meant to be removed and can be replaced with a laptop hard drive (don't need to buy one made by Sony),Wi-fi,Blue-Ray player,ect.

If i ever even consider buying PS3 it is because of EXCLUSIVES i dont care of COD4,AssassinsCreedor UT or smthing like thatbecause i canplay it on my PC.I dont want to waste another 600$ on smthing that will collect dust,so if MGS and FF dont be hits,PS3 will be biggest failure in history of gaming.

Yeah you make a good point. IF you already have a 360 and a kick ass PC then you definitely have a good point. But if the only console you bought was a PS3 then I'd think you'd be pretty happy with it.

In any event the price of PS3 is in the ball park of the 360 with the k-mart voucher and it comes with all that extra functionality. (if you use it all then it's a bargain).

You know, here in Australia we have to pay $170 for the wi-fi adaapter for the 360. It's such a rip off.

Mybe PlayStation 3 should be called FlopStation 3.

And i dont care about multimedia either,i WANT to play GAMES on PS3,not to download movies or stuff because i have PC for that.

PLAY = GAMES (i dont want to play movies,i WATCH movies)

STATION =device equipped with special equipment for a particular purpose (in this case GAMES)

3= number

Based on the CONSTRAINTS that you have for a system to be successful, then yes it may well be called a flopstation 3.

Not for me though. For me, it's the most kick ass piece of hardware on the planet!

If there are people out there that are really enjoying their PS3 than I really am happy for them. At the end of the day thats all its about really.

For me, i still think it has failed...and failed hard.

I lost count at the amount of times I've had to argue about how Multimedia isn't important on a GAMING console. There's a thing called a computer for that stuff. Sound familiar?

That is why Wii is such a popular console, it's meant for games. And god, do you know how sick I am of people using "good graphics" as their main argument for games being the best?

i like it, just like i like my other consoles.

Yeah but it's a pain in the ass to connect your PC up to your HD TV via an S-Video cable etc. Who wants to do that? It's so much more convenient to just be able to copy the movie to the PS3 and then watch in Optimal quality. You need to factor in now that most TV shows etc that you dload are now in 720p. Just check a torrent site. It's so awesome to be able to watch dloaded shows with the family in the family room without the hassle of connecting a laptop etc to the TV.

The only thing I like about my PS3 is that I can download save games from the net and put them on my USB flash drive... Then copy the file to my PS3.

Other then that... Waste of money right now to even have it. I should have bought $500 worth of games instead of $500 worth of dust.

here is the deal. My PC is not in my living room and is not connected to my big HDTV...thats when the PS3 comes into play multimedia wise. When i have a party at my house, I can stream all the songs from my PC to my living room through my PS3, or put up movies, or show photos on my HDTV without having to do extra work. Its really helpful. Instead of having to rent dozens of movies i have 300+ movies available at the click of a button due to my PS3 and i can watch em on my HDTV with friends instead of my 21" monitor. Maybe thats not important to you, but i think its a very useful feature. Plus, now i have a bluray player....Always wanted one but couldnt afford it. Then the PS3 came along with media centre capabilities, and a blu-Ray player. Now add all that to the fact that I have a great game system that allows me to play online for free and i think we got a winner. :)

I own all three systems and I love the 360 and PS3. The Wii is for my wife and kids. I only have three games for PS3 (I sold Resistance because I beat it and did not play online very often and prefer that on my 360) but I do own 17 blu-ray movies. I am very excited about Uncharted, LBP, Assassins Creed (I am getting this for PS3) and MGS4.T_0_D

Man, i hope when i have a wife and kids and a job i will still be able to find time to play video games. You must be lucky if your wife doesnt complain telling you "video games are for kids!" :P

I own all three systems and I love the 360 and PS3. The Wii is for my wife and kids. I only have three games for PS3 (I sold Resistance because I beat it and did not play online very often and prefer that on my 360) but I do own 17 blu-ray movies. What game is LBP?

I own a Wii as well as PS3. Just today I had a friend over and we had an absolute blast playing excite truck. Damn that game is good fun with two players :D

Also played Wii Tennis and pwnd him with me sitting down and him standing up, lolz. But hey, it was fun.

I think I'm going to sell Resistance as well after I beat the single player section of the game. I will probably spend most of my multi player FPS in UT3.

Apparently Haze demo comes out tomorrow on the Euro PSN store, so I'll check that out as well.

Yeah, but the point is that there's people out there buying PS3 just for the multimedia. Sony are injecting real crap into the gaming industry, I really don't like it. I didn't mind PS2, but this time round they've really made mistakes.Erebyssial

I don't quite understand what you mean here. Can you explain further?

I'm guessing that because Sony isn't focusing in a totally dedicated way towards the gaming aspect of the PS3, that you believe that the games are not up to the standard that they should be.

IMO, I don't see the issue with the console being a media center. This ability does not impinge on the quality of a game that is released for it. It just means that there are some people who own PS3's who don't care about games at all.

At Myers in Australia (kind of like Macy's in USA), they were selling the PS3 as purely a Blu Ray player with some HD TVs. (I over heard one of the salesmen). So yeah it is true that there are a few different demographic streams that purchase the PS3. One stream is the Gamer, another is the Blu Ray crowd, and yet another is the media center crowd who want a player that can access the internet and also play AVC(mp4), mpeg etc.

I love all three of my current systems.

Why for the PS3? It gives me games I cannot play elsewhere, same reason I love my other systems.

I agree with your whole post. And yea Advertisements have gotten alot cooler.

I love my 360 , its my most played system for obvious reasons .

I like my PS3 , its a great made machine , better that the 360 , it feels and breathes quality but the games are still lacking , bought Motorstorm and Resistance but kept it at that , i bought HS but traded that in for Bioshock , i played the R & C and Uncharted demo's but it feels meh to me so i got COD 4 and the Orange box for the 360 instead.

With Mass effect on the horizon and AC for the 360 in the pre- order my PS3 will still be the nice shiny doorstop it is for some time now , its day will come hopefully .

I still HATE mine.

But I do think that I will like it more this time next year (Till then I always have my Wii and 360 to keep me patient ^^)

is mass effect going to come out on PS3 at any stage or is it like a pipe dream similar to Bioshock coming to PS3?.

I saw some vids of mass effect and it looks fantastic. If I had a 360, then mass effect would be the game I spend most of my time on at the moment.

I love my 360 , its my most played system for obvious reasons .

it plays my ps3 games

it plays my dvd's

it plays my blu-ray movies

it connects wirelessy(wifi) to the internet(saving me a sh*Tload of trouble)

PSN is FREE(i don't know 'bout u but i luv 'free')

will soon be able to play divx(that's 75% of my movie collection)

i can access it from miles away via my psp(remote play)

i can stream movies from my pc to it

i can stream movies from my pc to it then to my psp

there's a chance that the statement "ps3 has no good games" won't be true forever

i like to pay less for more(very important to me!! it's not about what i pay but what i get in return, sorry wii)

i can if i wanted to install an OS on it

....wow! i think i'm in love.....
