Who here would trade their Xbone or PS4 for a 3DS ?

Now hold on before you start flaming the heck out of me.

I am well aware of the portable doesn't touch the console hardware in specs, graphics, framerate, and the obvious screen size.

However given the fact that Xbone and PS4 games are slowly trickling down the pipe, and the 3DS, unlike the Wii-U has massive 3rd party support as well as their 1st party hits.

Plus if anyone was a day one owner of either Xbone or PS4 than chances are you've played all the best titles they have to offer so far, but the 3DS has a much more extensive library.

Let's not forget that like it or not the 3DS does still have the largest install base.

So keeping hardware out of it and going by games and install base, who here would trade up ?

Hmm. Not a good idea. Would be better to have BOTH a 3DS and either a PS4 or Xbox One.

@Slimmin360: PS4 for 3DS ? Are you out of your damn mind ? I wouldnt do that even if 3DS had 1 billion sales and x2 the support it has right now ( or had even ).

I'm not comparing one against the other, i'm asking if you had a PS4 or XBone but ran out of new game experiences to choose from, then would the 3DS be able to offer those alternate experiences your looking for ?

I think if you have "run out of new game experiences" on your PS4 or X1, youre probably playing too many videogames.

Actually this topic is based on a real life trade i witnessed when walking into the game store a few days ago, a guy in his late 20's early 30's brought his PS4 in to trade, and the guy behind the counter asked him, "was there anything wrong with it or you just don't like it ?" and the customer replied, "nah i just played all there is to play on it, so i figured i would try a 3DS for a while, i never had the newest one".

I couldn't believe it myself but he traded up, got a 3DS and about 7 games and left the store seemingly happy....so i thought i would put the question out there to others.

I play it more than anything else. I buy more 3DS and DS games than anything else. It just has the games I like the most.

It sold worse than the WiiU in November and basically has no games coming out except for a couple Dragon Quest remakes.

No, besides I got a 3DS a long ass time ago, well before the Wii U, PS4, and Xbone even existed.

If it had a few more 3rd party games I really liked- like Minecraft, Fallout, or Dark Souls I might. But it doesn't.

No, the 3DS would be a downgrade from any system I have ever owned.

I have a 3DSXL, and to be honest I have about 10 games for it on the 3DS side of things. So no I definitely wouldn't trade my PS4 or Xbone for one even if I didn't already own one.

But you're not going to get call of duty, rainbow six siege, the division, uncharted 4, halo, ratchet and clank, battlefront, ect why would you solely want a 3ds

since getting my Xbox One I certainly play my 3DS a lot less, no I wouldn't find that trade to be an upgrade of any sorts

I already have a 3DS and even if I didn't, my answer would be no. I will always choose to play games on consoles before I pick up a handheld, so my 3DS is rarely used except during plane rides, when the power goes out, or the rare occasions when I know I'm going to have to wait a long time somewhere without anything else to do.

Nope. I don't really do handhelds anymore. I'm usually on my phone during my commutes. Besides that I don't have the time to play a handheld.

Nope, I never trade any of my consoles for anything.

Especially since the guy he describes traded down and no way he could of played the well over 800+ games on it.

Well , personally i dont think there are many , if not at all , alternatives to what consoles/PC offering. I mean lets talk about games .. Which 3DS game will fill the Witcher 3 gap ? Metal Gear Solid 5 ? Counter Strike Go ? So many many great experiences , online or not. It just cant.

But if you are into handheld there are some great games here and there that can be fun and great but ... handheld gaming wont ever , ever match console/PC experience overall therefore i dont see someone favor handheld gaming over console gaming EXCEPT if they have a strong reason to like they are traveling alot , they are reaaallly into handheld gaming , trends etc ...

I would never trade a console for a handheld. Though I do have a 3DS already anyway.

@Slimmin360: uhhhh nooope. Not me. I have all the games I'm interested in on 3DS and i can count those on two hands, the PS4/XBO each have far more i enjoy. So nah I'm all good

I already have a 3DS and barely play it relative to my PS4 or even my PS3, so no, I would not do this.

If I had one of the twins and I could trade it in and get the entire 3DS library? Then yes. Problem is that there is so many games to try to hunt down. Not to mention after a while it gets uncomfortable for me, so I'd need a comfort grip.

I own a 3DS, Wii U, and PS4. My least favourite of these three is the 3DS. I don't care much for the system.

I dont do handhelds, my surface 4 is the smalles device I game on(hearthstone+civ 5)

Good for you . I dont even need a 3DS or any other handheld gaming platform ( inclusind mobile ) , i constantly having something to play without them and hell no , i dont feel like im missing anything.
