Explain your answer:P Final exams
Definitely Nintendo. Both Sony and Microsoft have both expressed their desires for current gen consoles to have a ten year life cycle, while Nintendo is hinting at releasing a new console. The PS3 and the 360 are around the middle of their lifetimes, Wii is definitely near its end
Microsoft will drop support for the 360 first. They like doing that.RedruM_I
Yes, we all know Microsoft dropped support of the original Xbox (or Xbox180 as I like to call it) when the 360 launched 4 years later. You also need to realize that Xbox 180 was doing very poorly in the market, which X360 is NOT. The successor enjoys a much larger market share and people are still buying it. MS has no reason to drop support for the Xbox 360 now, or even the first 3 years when Xbox 720 launches, when ever that is.

They were losing money on the Xbox still, and had a very small percentage of the market share.
This gen is the complete opposite, but you still think they're just going to drop support....
Wiii with three i's or something just as stupid. A Wii with longer battery life and support for larger resolutionsTheGrat1Battery life? :?
[SARCASM]Yeah, it will last 0.8 seconds off the power cord instead of 0.2 seconds.[/SARCASM]

Based on their one and first console. Why would they do that when the 360 is more successful. Anyway, I think Sony will drop out first but the Next Ninty console would be the first to come out. Why drop the wii when it basically prints money?
The first to move to the next gen will be the Wii. Sales aside, it'd be hard to keep up momentum when higher and higher quality games are being developed for the other consoles, considering third party devs are just dumping bad ports into the system.
One of these days that little kid's gonna grow up and realize he/she wants a Forza or a GT, or a Street Fighter or a more mature Final Fantasy and realize that Mario Kart and SSB are not enough of a gameplay experience any more.
My random guess would be that Ninty will have a new console ready for Q4 2011. The others will be a few years later. I'm just interested to see if MS caves before Sony or if they'll both start next gen the same year.

They have dropped support in the past for several of their products. Remember Windows Millenium and now Vista which is rapidly replaced (and undoubtely they will drop support for it soon). The 360 is succesful sales-wise but the fact that it has so many hardware issues seems to me to be the kind of thing MS won't like to have the burden with when releasing their next iteration. So yes, I think they will drop support of it quickly.I don't think people get the question. The question is who would drop their console support first not who would make a new console first. That being stated why would Nintendo drop the wii when it seems to be printing money?

Not that a 10 year life span is a bad thing but just imagine, the graphics are going to look so outdated in comparison to PC by that time.JunkTrapMaybe, but the pc is drifting slowly as it is... but to answers OP's question nintendo of course, aint no way the wii as it is will last more then 3 years I don't even see that..

Is the 360 failing?
Most software sales? High market share? Millions of Live subscribers? And it's not losing money each unit sold. Why do you think MS would drop support for the 360?

Because it's MS. It's pretty hard to trust a company that has given me no reason to trust it whatsoever so, once it drops support, you can quote me on it :)

They have dropped support in the past for several of their products. MS doesn't just drop support because they feel like it, but if that helps you sleep at night then w/e.

If you think about it Millenium and Vista were never "failing" products. Since MS is basically a monopoly they still dominated the biggest part of the market with those two. MS doesn't drop support on failing products, they drop support on low quality products that cost them extra money, like the 360.

Because it's MS. MS doesn't drop support on failing products, they drop support on low quality products that cost them extra money, like the 360.Millenium and Vista failed to replace the previous gen of operating systems from Microsoft. Apple had a HUGE marketing campaign against Vista in which they cemented in everyone's head that Vista was a terrible product. People that have never even touched Vista will still say it's a bad product. Why do you think XP is still so widely popular after eight years? Why didn't MS randomly "drop support" for that product? Must be because it was so insanely successful?
That's why you see such a huge push with Windows 7 from Microsoft showing all the new features, and notice the large amount of people in each advertisement? They're trying to display this image that Windows 7 is actually a humungous upgrade from Vista, and is incredibly user friendly.
Also, the 360 doesn't lose MS money. Didn't you see how their gaming division profits doubled in this last quarter compared to last year?
If you honestly think a company as successful as MS drops support for their products for no good reason at all then you seriously need to take a course in economics.
