@R4gn4r0k:
I spent the first 20 odd hours playing:
4K DLSS/FG (0.8 scale = 3072x1728p) all settings at ultra.
I recently read a reddit post where someone said the shadows in the game were bugged as in they are extremely taxing / poorly optimised and don't really look any better on ultra vs medium.
so for the last 10 hours I tried turning shadows down to medium and honestly cannot tell a difference between that and ultra.
so now I run 4K DLAA/FG (native 4K as scale =1x), shadows medium all else Ultra.
Set my OLED's VSYNC to 4K/116. It pretty much never drops below 116 fps.
I really can't tell the difference between 0.8 and 1 scale on 4K either, not even 0.7 scale (DLSS Quality is 0.66x which is 1440p), but my frame rate is stable so I don't need the extra head room.
If you haven't already, try setting shadows to medium. it gives a pretty huge boost and no apparent loss in fidelity to my eyes. I tried it on all kinds of planets, both exteriors and interiors at different time of day, the quantity and quality is no different. I assume you get maybe 60 fps on 3080 Ti if you play 4K DLSS2 Quality ? medium shadows should boost your FPS. Or allow you to set the slider to something higher like 0.7, 0.75, 0.8 for the same FPS.
The Redditor had an RTX 4070, maybe its just an issue/fix for 40xx users but worth a try.
