Who Is The Most Awesome Bloke Protagonist System Wise?

I saw indzman make a thread about this. Asking people, who they liked on the female front, so I decided to do something for the male side.

It's pretty much the same thread, except for dudes. Feel free to share your crushes or just individuals you think are awesome.

I'll start.

Nathan Drake. Handsome, adventurous, witty. He's the Lara Croft equivalent of video game hotties. His tits just aren't as nice.

Btw, ND ruined him for Uncharted 4. He looks like a right twat.

I'd say it's either Link or Yu Narukami.

Honestly, you can't just say "Link". There's so many of them now. Which one in particular? The one from Skyward Sword can sprint. That's nice.

1. Geralt of Rivia (Not perfect just like real humans. Has some good and bad qualities in his character)
2. Max Payne (Best anti hero of all time imo. No, Man on Fire rip off (MP3) doesn't count)
3. Garrett (Second best anti hero and one of the most charming characters ever)
4. Jim Raynor (Bad ass and over the top character. Space Cowboy)
5. Lo Wang (Funny and badass at the same time. Every time he opens his mouth, he either says something funny or makes his enemies pee inside their pants)

Talking about glasses like that matters and shit. Dude pops collars like no other human being does.

I'm playing P3 myself. I like how summoning shows you shooting yourself. Very dark, but I like it.

@freedomfreak: Very nice, man. Persona 3 is cool. A little rough around the edges, and not as well paced, but the payoff is worth it. What part you at? And what version are you playing?

Just the beginning, really. Portable, btw. Through emulation on my tablet.

Any major differences? I know they toned it down a bit for the PSP's hardware. Also, it offered me to play as a girl, but it recommended the dude, so I did.

Nice list. I like that. Out of those I'd pick Max. Just for the amount of awesome quotes under his belt. Dude doesn't **** around.

@freedomfreak: Quite a few differences. Portable won't have any of the anime cutscenes or over world navigation (it gives you static images and cursor based navigation respectively). That said, it lets you control every member of your party, which the original or FES did not. On the flip side, it lacks the FES story which is an additional 30-40 hours of content that resolves the Persona 3 story.

Personally, I prefer the other versions, because I love the cutscenes (the story, storytelling, and music are my favorite part of the game, and two of those suffer with Portable), but of course, many will (rightly) argue that the gameplay improvements Portable brings to the table more than make up for it.

Yup. I think I'm with you on that. I mean, the gameplay stuff sounds neat, but I feel like I'm playing a neutered version. There's hardly anything going on. I mean, the dungeons are still playable, but anything besides that, it's just VN screen after VN screen.

I'd much prefer to play the other version. PSN has it, so I guess I could always go for that.

No anime cutscenes or roaming around the town in 3D, but the actual game is so much better. Besides, even in P4G where you can roam around in 3D, I just use shortcuts after a few days.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "system wise" so I'm just going to name my favorite protagonist in a game/series of games ever

I mean, I heard Golden is the definitive version. Never played that. I had P4 when it came out, so I never went back to that. Doesn't help that it's a Vita exclusive. That, to me, is a cruel joke. Sony's still riding on that.

Sony isn't riding on it. They ditched Vita on the street, and few brave Japanese devs are picking it up and making stuff out of it. Vita's "success"--or the continuation of its life--has nothing to do with Sony. Disgusting fucking company.
