Definitely! That explains why they've created two of the highest rated games of this generation! you would be surprised at how much nostalgia can effect your thoughts on something take zelda skyward sword for example, people are pretty hyped for that game when they footage we saw didn't look that good. it's all in the name and what the game used to beIf I was a sucker for nostalgia then I would still think of SE as a great RPG developer and I would still get excited for every FF that comes out. I would still have respect for the MGS series and be hanging on Kojimas every word. I would be anxiously anticipating any news on the next Ninja Gaiden. There are plenty of game series that are solely riding on a name nowadays. Lots of them used to be my favorites, but I know BS when I see it and I jump off those sinking ships.
However, Nintendo hasn't burned me. Their games are just as good, if not (in most cases) better than the games that got me hooked on them in the first place. Of course people are hyped for the next big Zelda game. Why wouldn't they be? This isn't some annual/bi annual release of the same old crap we have been getting all this gen. Its a game from a top notch series that is long overdue for a sequel. A game from a series that even at its very worst, still delivers solid gameplay and plenty of content.
And when it comes to "nostalgic franchises" You chose the one major Nintendo name that was slightly stale in its last major release. Zelda is your only easy target really. How about Nintys other big names? Would you say SMG was just riding on nostalgia?
Its obvious that you don't even play Nintendo games, so why do you always post this same drivel in every Nintendo thread you see?
