Honestly, I am, kind of waiting for both but just Halo 5 will do. The current Xbox One console is not at all attractive. It's a living room eyesore that takes me back to the 90s with a glossy coat. It's a big turn off. However, Halo 5 should be pretty darn great, the multiplayer especially, making it a little easier to ignore the console design faults. That and Halo MCC for some nostalgia, something they should have finally fixed 100% by then.

Halo sucks.

I already dived in and got an Xbox One though, it is massive, but no regrets it is an awesome system.

Do we really need a Xbox One Slim? It's just too early for that kind of thing and kinda pointless as it is. PS4 is already Slim as it is so don't expect Sony to do the same.

You should hold off until there's something you REALLY want to play. MCC pulled my trigger months ago.

I hope so or I'd have to build my own chassis for it.

Maybe if they use 14nm it would be cooler?

Meh another halo - MS needs to do more than that for me to pick one up again. $199 with a few free games seems to be the sweet spot to make me get one.

As an adult I rather like the look, it is very practical, functional and looks good in an entertainment center.

It's intended to blend, not look like a piece of Japanese architecture.

Please...give me a break. The PS4 looks like a smaller Xbone with a slight slant, and a Cylon light on the side that serves no real purpose. It's hardly a design masterpiece..lol. One looks like a VCR and one looks like a DVD player. Both from the mid 90s.

Anyway personally I will be waiting to see what games are announced at E3. MS better show up with some interesting games that are not just Halo and Gears over and over. Otherwise I think I will be passing on an Xbone for quite a while.

I am waiting until I move out and have more room for it. Right now I do not have that, but I will hopefully get one by year end.

I'd never not buy a console from appearance alone. But I agree the X1 doesn't offer much that can't be found elsewhere. I'm hoping the holiday season will change that.

I don't care for the XB1 design either. Don't care for the PS4 design as well. They both suck. I bought both, not because of what they looked like, but because of the games they will play. There are a lot of great games coming out for both systems this year and next, so I've owned both since launch.

No he didn't. Stop making up BS. He fully backs the XB1.

Yep I'm holding off until a slim version is available and I'm put off with the whole power brick outside, it's like were still in the 90s but my real problem is i've got no where to put that huge thing in my living room so i need a slim version so it fits in, also waiting for gears of war to be honest, halo doesn't interest me anymore.

Price is fine, look is fine, not really hyped for Halo 5... I'm just holding off on a few exclusives that I actually care for. Like seriously, 3 must have games is enough to make me bite. I'm hoping Scalebound will be the first.

Trade in your 360 or PS3 and get $150 off of your Xbox One purchase.

If you wait until Halo 5 this deal will be gone. BUT Halo 5 will have its own custom console.

I'm waiting for a slim model. I would be all about it if they announced another blockbuster development deal like they did with Mistwalker. But since that hasn't happened I'm not nearly as interested in it as I was in the 360.

I'm sure the Halo 5 fire sale will be a much better deal.

I'm waiting on both for the same reasons. Halo 5 is the only game I have interest in, and I want nothing to do with the current ugly Xbox design.

I need a slim, there´s no room where my consoles are located to place the 80´s VCR size of the X1 and it just has to be on that place and nowhere else.

Don't need one. It looks like shit. Regressive, backwards thinking, overblown and bulky. And LMAO at those thinking MS designed it for "heat reasons". That's funny because the PS4 is much smaller, sleek and compact, and is more power efficient. Same can be said about the efficient WiiU. And both WiiU and X1 use a power brick!!

MS engineers just suck at ergonomics and industrial design.

do you understand that during a redesign the internal parts shrink too? Thus making the system smaller, use less energy, and produce less heat. These enhancements would most likely help to extend the life of the product too.

@Gue1: You can trust MS with that all you want....I wouldn't...hardware is not their strong point and with this console designed to be on during non gaming hours making it smaller would be risky....just my opinion.

But thanks for explaining on how big things can be made small...very enlightening. The PS4 is small but I could cook bacon on it while in use.

I'd personally never buy a model 2 or model 3 of any console. Historically with each iteration that releases after the original they get cheaper in not only cost but in quality as well, now this is not something that happens every time but it is definitely the prevailing reality. Generally the first release of a system is its best iteration, it was created with all the bells and whistles and means to impress, but its too costly to continually create it.

When holding out for an Xbox One slim (if it ever comes), take this into account.

Normally I would think waiting for a slim home console is a bit pointless, but in the Xbox One's case it is badly needed. Besides being a gigantic brick, it also is the only modern console that can't operate in the vertical position. I'm sure the redesign will fix both of those things.

The 360 slim was a big improvement over the 360 phat, so I'm sure Microsoft will think of something sleek-looking for the redesign.

PS4 looks fine as it is... It's already about the size of the PS3 slim to begin with. I guess it could always be made slimmer, but I don't think it will make as much of an impact. I do think both consoles could use an across the board hard drive space increase, though. They also need a Wifi upgrade. They should both support 802.11ac 2.4/5Ghz MIMO.
