Who still loves Mario?

Well, if you ever actually stopped liking him...

Its basically impossible to hate this guy

How could I not like him?

The games of him I play are so awesome that its sick.

Mario is too old, he's irrelevent to this gen. Games shouldn't be fun, they should have hours of cutscenes with only a half hour of gameplay.

Just kidding, Mario is seriously awesome, and he's been the anchor for video gaming for decades.

I grew up in the NES and SNES era... not liking Mario and Sonic is blasphemy to me. Even though Sonic has been crap since like 9/9/9 I still have respect for the blue guy. Mario has never really put out a bad platformer and his spin offs are mostly alot of fun (except party imo).

Maybe i'm an old man gamer who's going senile, but I don't get how young kids can bash mario despite the quality of the games both old and new.

2D Mario, yes. Mario 64 was good, I have a slight interest in playing Sunshine and no interest in playing Galaxy. I still haven't found anything in the main Mario series more enjoyable than SMB, SMB3, SMW and SMW2YI.foxhound_fox

Sunshine's not that bad...:P It had one of my favorite boss battles ever. Teh Manta Storm. :shock:

Here's my take on Mario...

I love him, for what he was when I was a kid. Through the SNES period. He was relatively new, and as a kid your imagination is always churnin' so you could play the games with the him and fill in all the blank. Like his voice, his personality, why Princess keeps getting kidnapped, etc. But as I got older, all those blanks started yanking at me to the point where I cant see it as anything else but rehashes. Maybe if Mario "matured" with me I would still love him... and I say "mature" not as in a grown up, violent way or anything... I mean if they incorporated voices in the game, or made them not so predictable, etc.

But, I loved Super Mario Galaxy, it was fun... but not a deep experince, which isnt what Nintendo is going for anyway.

It's my case anyway, my opinion I should say. It's just not to me I guess. I still like Mario games I guess, but as for the icon that is "Mario"... he'll always be the SNES Mario to me. :cry: lol

I actually didn't like Super Mario Galaxy as much as everybody else did.

I thought Super Paper Mario was awesome, though.
