i liked the good old days when it was just 2 rivals nintendo and sony now microsoft and that geeky bill gates wrecked everythingvenom_brawl
I liked the good old days too. When there was only Sega and Nintendo duking it out ;)
Sony was 'the big bad new guy' on the console market too way back you know. Just like MS was last generation.
[QUOTE="Snugenz"]Your post makes you sound like a kid with a skinned knee, boo hoo
Competition is good for consumers, live with it.

You should tell that to Bill gates
Why, because MS have cornered the OS market ?
I thought we were here to discuss gaming ?
Yes, lets get rid of a major part of the games industry which makes some of the biggest games around today

Just for the record, what games have Microsoft made?
Umm. Combat flight simulator, Age of empires, halo. Non of these games would have been what they are today withoout MS
Oh yeah. MS also brought Online play to consoles with ease. Do you really think sony would have obthererd with PSN if it wan't for xbox live?
Oh yeah, it was never sony and Nintendo. Remember sega. It was sort of a 4 hores race at one point.

ok, first of all. 4 hores?
and, there is no freaking way in high hell that microsoft itself made those games. microsoft can't do **** right. they hired
people or formed some kind of new branch which they stole employees from sucsessful game developers/publishers.

Horse If you can't work that out then.....
It was still Microsofts money that payed for the developmet of those games. Odds are they wouldn't have been nerly as good wihout that kind of finachal backing...

MS didn't make them, they just bought the companies that did, thus making them in-house. If MS wanted, they could buy every game developer they want, and it could happen which is pretty scary.
if microsoft wasnt around, we wouldnt have a lot of the good games coming out._en1gma_
Yeah, Halo would have been a Mac/PC Shooter and Gears would most certainly be on PC too, MS has just been wonderful to PC Gamers, let me tell ya.

LOL, its not as if sony makes their games, they have 1st party dev houses to make thier games .MS either has their 1st party devs pump out great games(Halo, Forza, Age of Empires) or it hires third party devs, funds thier projects and publishes their games(PGR,Mass Effect, Gears)Nothing wrong with that
I hatehow Microsoftbought themselves in... and how SEGA had to leave :cry:EponiqueIf anything just so you know - MS tried to be a partner to Sega more then just the Windows CE part of DC and SOA was all for it but that stubborn part of Sega ( SOJ ) would not hear of it and in all honesty, SOJ is just lame and has no sense of where the ind. was going.
It was Sony who killed Sega ( No EA games and No GTA3 - many devs were bought off - Sony had the $$ then making sure DC failed ) and MS is giving Sony what Sega would like to give them- a fair fight this time- lol.

Yeah, the fact that microsoft could just buy the majority of developers has got to be scry. Bugger, got to go now its just started raining and my windows open.
*runs.
Better yet, have sony get lost too then we can go back to Nintendo and Sega.sonicare
Yeah those were the good old days. When I was a major Sega fanboy. (I remember how much I loved the 'Sega Channel' for the Genesis 50 games each month)
I myself wouldn't buy a MS game system, but the competition keeps Nintendo and Sony in line and prevents them form slacking off. I am not biased towards or against any system, but i am happy with my PS3 more than any other system on the market. :)snorlaxmaster
not gaming-wise, right?
"Good Old Days"? There have always been atleast three companies the big three were Sega Nintendo and Sony...Sony is pretty new to the game and only about 13 years old, and Sega has always been there up until June 2001. XBOX came out in November 2001
So your "Good Old Days" with just Sony and Nintendo lasted oh I dont know...5 months?
So this thread fails...

Consumers Need Microsoft and Sony, nuff said.
Microsoft should stay, Xbox, Xbox 360, they have already a foothold, or toe or stronghold, in the market, why should they stop?
