First off, I am a big Nintendo fan. However, that is because of their games and controllers (speaking more as of late). I do not see the point in trying to compete with Microsoft and Sony in the console department. The Wii is very underpowered. It would be nice to have some select games for the 360 and the PS3 that would use the Wiimote. I also think that they should continue to make portable systems like the DS. Let me know what you guys think.ho0p3r4life42
I can't tell you what I think without being banned/suspended. SHNOFFLE
I'm not sure what your opinion is from that post, it's a complete text mess of ugggg.
Anyways, they should continue to make consoles, as they're fun to play.
i just realised i voted wrong, if nintendo stop making consoles then microsoft or sony can buy all there good games (super smash bros ftw)coakroach
*Shakes head* Nope. Nintendo made a statement quite a while ago, if their company were to somehow die, their games die with it. They would not move to third party.
Totally, I mean, with all the trouble the Wii is in...
Tsug_Ze_Wind
yep, all that trouble of winning lol ;)
I don't think Ninty should stop making consoles at all. I think they should start making consoles I want to buy though. Right now they're wasting my time, and taking my developers to make second rate "casuals first!"(a.k.a weak) games. I dunno, maybe they figured out they just can't quite take Sony or MS in the real console segment, but I wish they'd at least continue trying...or get out.whoisryanmack
This is business, and not everyone caters exclusively to whoisryanmack.
They should OPEN UP to 3rd party devs & STOP being close-minded towards violent mature themed games or create more new IPs.
But to answer the topic. NO, they should keep making consoles. Competition is good for the industry.

Casualize doesn't mean it destroys depth, only the badly done ones do. Take madden for example. It's as dep as it's other console bretherens, just has a contorl style not only easier to explain to the average person, but that makes more sense.
You don't spend a long time explaining "This button jumps, this anolog runs, this one controls camura, this one dives, this ones for special moves, this this and this pressed in a certian order is a super move." Casualizing madden for a more wide audience basically ment to them what it should mean: "Hey, how do I tackle?" "Push forward"

I think the GBA just out-sold the PS3 in consecutive months again.

Ok, but this isn't the "what's good for business" thread. This is the "who thinks Ninty should stop making consoles" thread. That is my take on the matter, as evidenced by it's appearance next to my personal username.

Thanks but reading it isn't my problem, it's the cluttered mess of it's wording that confuses me.
didnt miyamoto say he would leave if ninendo ever quit making consoles? No if only for that reason. plus nintendo has brought alot of things to the table over the years and will probably keep doing so. they made D-pad, Shoulder buttons, anolouge stick, and rumble all standard, and possibly motion sensing.laughingman42
You were saying what Nintendo did for peripherals and not for consoles. I was saying that they stop making console and just amke peripherals, games, and portlable systems.
