XO wasn't cancelled, it was just moved. It's no longer in Europe, it's in Canada... Which is odd, but whatever.

That makes no sense just so you know. Just read your last sentence carefully...

If Leipzig is the place to show off your next year titles, then how is someone already ahead? On top of that, Leipzig was never really that big of a deal as far as major announcements go. Hell for the announcements are usually as the same scale as GDC with the exception of this year's have never really been too big.

Microsoft never really put much effort into Leipzig because they have X0 generally around the same time and they hold their major announcements for that. Leipzig isn't really a good convention to say "who won what".
