Who will win the holiday season? (360 vs PS3)

THIS IS PS3 VS 360. WII IS NOT INCLUDED

I know its a little bit early, but this holiday season looks interesting. I personally am not really sure right now but I feel as if this holiday season comes down to the success or failure of Kinect. I don't really think Halo: Reach will be a system seller after last year ODST didn't really shift consoles and Reach is being marketed the same way as ODST was. Plus Reach isn't a DIRECT sequel, its more of a prequel and kinda sounds like a spin-off(to the public i mean) if Halo: Reach was callde Halo 4 then it would shift consoles and 360 would win this holiday season HANDS DOWN. Fable III doesn't SEEM to have that much hype going on(apart from old Peter M). So i really think if Kinect fails ps3 wins, if kinect succeeds 360 wins. But Kinect is pretty dang pricy. and in the UK the PS move bundle is a full 80 pounds cheaper.

As for PS3 GT5 is the "first" GT this gen so i expect it to shift consoles in europe. and LBP2 seems to be doing well in the pre-orders. I don't expect move to do much as it is a peripheral but so is kinect. I'm not really sure how many people will want to buy a system for a peripheral. Both 360 and PS3.

So right now its too close to tell but we'll see. Vote and comment.

Depends worldwide, or just the states? Hardware or game sales? Overall profit or quantity sold? Or do you simply mean gaming quality?

Have you seen the sale graphic for the last year sales?? Wii skyrocketed last holiday and I think it'll do it again this year.

Doesn't the PS3 have more exclusives than those 2?

Between those two it'll undoubtely be the 360.

I'm basing this assumption off Halo Reach, more CoD players being 360 owners, and Kinect garnering more interest for itself than the PS Move.

You skipped some PS3 exclusives there. Such as SOCOM 4.

See i don't think Halo: Reach OR COD will shift 360s. I mean look at last holiday season ODST didn't sell that many consoles and Halo: Reach as far as i'm concerned is being marketed the same way as ODST. as for COD yea more COD players are on 360 but this is COD: BLack Ops not a MW MW1 sold better than WAW. So i don't think WAW will have that big of a factor plus a lot of people are getting pissed off with activision and COD in general. so imo it all comes down to Kinect. and don't forget Kinect is very expensive.

The title cleary shows 360 vs PS3, so out of those two I think I'll go with the 360 because it has a model that is cheaper.

Halo Reach win

I'm sure it will be really close but the ps3 has a small advantage with gt5 which will sell great worldwide and littlebigplanet 2 will also be good.

In terms of system sellers, there's Kinect, Move, and Gran Turismo 5. Halo Reach will be one of the best-selling games of the year, but I don't really see it being a system pusher. I mean, why would someone who didn't buy a 360 for Halo 3, ODST, or even Halo Wars see Reach and go "Time to buy a 360!" Gran Turismo has shown up on the PS3 before, but it was only a small taste of the real thing, so I can easily see people holding off until GT5.

But still, even though the PS3 has more system sellers it's really between Kinect and Move. The PS3 has been leading so far this year, but it's anyone's game this holiday season.

The 360 because Kenic will be the hot topic item this holiday. Many may not like it, but what you like has little to do with what the big item is.

Shoot, I voted draw because I thought this was about sales and the Slim 360's release would push up the holiday sales to about equal to the PS3.

In terms of games it is PS3 for me all the way.

Prologue sold close to 5 million copies, it's only natural that the full thing will sell more.

isnt there a prolouge for every verison of GT's?

The 360 in the real world but PS3 in SW poll maybe.

i think both will do great with halo reach and gran turismo 5

The fact that so many people are preordering it... despite already being able to buy a cheaper arcade spring bundle with 2 games right now... just sreinforces how much demand there is for it.

paying an extra 50 bucks, and waiting 3 months to get the system... thats crazy! the preorders should be at 0.

We won't know worldwide until Sony and Microsoft release their figures, but in NA probably the Xbox.

Yeah I agree. This seems like an odd slection going on here. I mean between these two consoles I think the 360 has the better shot. Although I feel like the Wii will very likely take the crown. I guess we'll see and I will be happy with any system taking the top holiday spot as I love all three systems unconditionally.

The Wii will sell the most units for sure, and with the most high profile exclusive titles coming one can only assume it's overall software units sold wll also lead the way. Halo Reach will probably be the best selling single game and with the aformentioned Fable 3 (off the top of my head the only two exclusive 360 games) it should be able to beat the PS3 even with Gran Turismo and the awesome looking LBP 2.

EDIT: As far as the new motion controls are concerned I do persnally feel that Move will be more succsessful than Kinect and make more money for Sony than Kinect will for MS.So I don't know how that will change the outcome. All three systems are rockin' in their own way so it will be exciting to see what happens! I feel like us as the gamers are the real winners here *sniffle*

More than likely there will be more PS3's sold, mostly because more people already own a 360; may sound stupid, but that's my opinion. thepoop7
