Thanks to the delay, ubi can sit back and watch the TRUE stealth game show everyone how its done, so don't be surprised if the next splinter cell has some similarity with MGS4, IMO.

Yeah.. cause you know, that makes sense more then needing extra development time to fine tune, and finish the game. Obviously they just delayed it so they could steal ideas from MGS4. What makes MGS4 the TRUE stealth game? Is SC:C the FALSE stealth game or something? What makes it TRUE? They are both stealth games, thats TRUE. So wheres this extra TRUE for MGS4 coming from?

true stealth? sorry but i see alot of stealth action in the SC series
and there's also this:

I don't think that SC:C will rip off MGS4. I think that the two games will be great in their own unique ways.him42
My thoughts exactly
How can they do a rip off if Sam Fisher is running around city streets as a fugitive and Solid Snake is fighting futuristic private militaries?
And the previous Splinter Cell's were in no way even close to being similar to previous Metal Gear's. Only thing related is Snake killing people stealth like and Sam Fisher killing people stealth like. Why would you think they would rip off now when the relation is even more non existent?
Regardless I can tell you right now there will be nothing worth ripping off.
Lol, SC:C went back to the drawing board..what they had done this far...was probably rubbish, in comparison.
As for TRUE, maybe i should of said EPIC stealth game. for its better story/characters etc. But since lemmings have attacked the thread, i couldn't say anything for you to agree to.
oh well.

Epic stealth game and better story/characters would be your opinion. For me I enjoy both franchises.
And I wouldn't assume that people who disagree with your opinion or attack your thread for basically talking like a cow are lemmings.

Lemmings attacked this thread? Or maybe you're not coming up with a decent arguement in response to our replies?
I always liked Metal Gear Solid but I never felt that one was superior then the other. It almost seems to me that whenever Splinter Cell has something better then MGS has something that compensates for it. Yeah Splinter Cell's story is weak but Splinter Cell's multiplayer absolutely killed Metal Gear Subsistence's in terms of replayability (And judging from the MGS4 beta? This trend continues). In terms of flexibility, Sam Fisher wins hands down where he can do more stealth oriented moves, Snake? He has the potential to soak much more damage.
I dont get the need to even argue against them two. Despite both being "stealth-action" games, they are still different and appeals to different kinds of people.

seriously, you honestly think mgs 4 is a true stealth game.im guessing you havent played any of the thief series then
Yeah.. cause you know, that makes sense more then needing extra development time to fine tune, and finish the game.

They're going "back to the drawing board", and the first expected release is fall 2009 that's not fine tuning.
I love the Splinter Cell series, but I have a feeling they're gonna copy SOMEthing.
I think they created something great and unique, but maybe it didnt go well with whoever tests the game etc. Maybe it wasnt fun, or something wasnt working that now they have to do stuff over again.
I don't think SC:C needs to rip off MGS 4.
As far as I'm concerned, the Splinter Cell series has always been better at pulling off true stealth action while MGS gets credit more for its excellent story (something Splinter Cell has never had).
The two games both have their strengths and weaknesses and I don't see why the two need to be compared.
You ever think that maybe Ubi realizes that SC isn't that big in the market and is facing some serious competition this Fall so they just pushed it back?
