who's cool with games nowadays?

hi guys


I really dislike in this Generation of games,that most of the games are FPS.

I like some of them they are cool ,but the new technology should be apply in a new thing

I don't see battle cars game: twisted metal, viglant 8, rouge trip ...... etc

I don't see cool cartoon games: Crash, Spyro, Jack & Dexter (Naughty Dog Games) , MINI NINJAS, Richter & Clock ....... etc

I mean what if Super Mario Galaxy 2 takes game of the year 2010

I honestly can't tell if this is a serious post. You say there are no "cool cartoon games", by which I assume you mean platformers, but you then list some that were actually released this gen. There has been a "Jack & Dexter" game on the PSP (except not done by Naughty Dog), there have been three "Richter & Clock" games released, and Mini Ninjas is also from this gen. Super Mario Galaxy 2 is another platformer that sounds exactly like what you want so why would it be a bad thing if it won GOTY?

I also find it odd that someone who really dislikes this generation has 20 platinum trophies.

I agree with you, yet i disagree. Neither do i like shooters, platformers, racing etc nowdays . So what do i like ? Games with choices , i think that it should be the future of gaming , games where you can just pretty much choose how you interact with just about everything,doesn't matterif they are focused on an specific task i think they should allow you to have some king of "normal life" parts to make you get into the character, get to know him.

As an example how about a shooter where you lead a guy's normal life in the beginning, you experience his normal day life, meet his family , yet gets dragged onto something bigger, kind of like heavy rain i think but going into different directions.with many genres like racing , fantasy etc. But then again this may just be me going crazy

What i really miss are beautiful pc games.
And most heavy hitters are very very very disappointing. It's like they use some kind of formula to make their game. They feel manufactured, predictable, made.... i don't know the right word for it. This is also the first generation ever that i bought a console and regretted it.
But then every once in a while a real gem comes along. I mean SMG, or No more heroes. Fantastic. And the DS is the real savior of this gen.

Most games i played this gen are games that i feel 'could have been so much better if ... '.
For me this is the generation of missed oppertunities, the rise of scumbags in the developers and very misplaced hype, but also the generation of motion control, 3d gaming, online communities, digital distribution and hd gaming.
Overall it is still a very enjoyable generation.

Anyway, we must not be shopping at the same stores. I've been able to pick up and enjoy a great deal of variety; Forza 3, PGR 4, Tomb Raider Underworld, Prince of Persia, Assassin's Creed 2, Batman Arkham Asylum, Mass Effect games, Dragon Age, GTA4, DMC4.

And then there are the downloadable games; Braid (you wanted good cartoon games) and Shadow Complex.

I even notice that Fighters have had a ressurgence this generation; DOA4, SoulCal4, SSF4, Tekken 6, DC vs MK.

I don't even have time to pick up all the games I want, like Ninja Gaiden 2, RE5, RDR, PoP Forgotten Sands, Fallout 3, Fable 2, Bad Company 2, Splinter Cell Conviction, and more.

What's there to complain about?
