I would be excited save for feeling like this is FFXI all over again. Had the question been am I excited about Kotor 3 than I would have definitly been excited. :(
The fact that it's even an MMO doesn't help its cause with me. With my addictive nature I try to avoid this genre every chance I get. Another thing, it's set in the Star Wars universe, we've tried a Star Wars MMO before, galaxies and it failed. But of course this is Bioware, so I can't doubt them. I'd just prefer a regular KOTOR sequel because one of the main aspects that made the series so appealing was the storyline. How would that translate in an MMO?
there is alot of really good mmo's out there it's really hard to choose. I think I will pick the kotor MMO over all of them because I beleave bio-ware is the best rpg maker out there. If anyone could make that perfect rpg for our times it would be bio-ware. Funcom came close but too meny problems with that game. I have guild wars and guild wars 2 is coming out. There is huxely, agecy, Dc online, champions online and daiblo online. It's really hard to choose for a pc gamer and mmo rpg player.

guild wars 2 and kotor might be way different. I hopefully bio-ware will change all that because you have rpg pro's making this game. Lets keep our figure crossed.
NO.. I am not what so ever.. Number one as a pc gamer we have enough mmos.. Number two, KOTOR was all about ROLEPLAYING as a jedi.. That you were completely unique and a minority in a universe full of rich story you affected.. What I see this becoming is A) I can't be a jedi, its as hard as it was in Starwars galaxy supposedly was.. One of the main things about KOTOR series, your a jedi.. B) The MMO universe is chulk full of jedi and sith to the point its stupid and not unique.. Either way I am not expecting to see any of the great dialogue and story I saw in the first KOTOR..
I cannot express my rage that rather than finish the story they had builtin the first 2, they try and force a MMO on us.
BTW TheSecondSign, I enjoyed KOTOR2 but its not as good as the first one.

The story in an MMO can be almost as good as a single player game if its done right. I just hope BioWare keeps in the choices system like in the single player KotORs. The best thing about it being an MMO is it lasts longer. A single player game you may play through once or twice (usually once for me if its a long game) and then your done with it.

Because being a vet of MMOs I can't think of a single MMO (though good ones) that reached the story immersion KOTOR/Mass Effect/Baldur's gate 2/Vampire the Masquerade etc etc gave me.. Its a completely different breed of game.. This isn't to say MMOs are bad.. But they clearly sacrifice story narrative and consquences for a wide open enviroment of exploration and person to person interaction.

I actually played them through alot of times to see what the different choices did. :) I'm not a MMORPG fan honestly and thats a big part of it

guild wars has good story best out there. Fucom has the tech but don't really use it to make strong story. Funcom had alot of poetical
