The rumor mill says MS.farrell2k
would that mean it'll stay exclusive to MS platforms, or EA could also publish them concurrently on other platforms?

What would MS gain publishing it if there was some way EA could put it on other consoles? At this point there is no reason to think PS3 has any chance at ME 2 or 3I've read in these very forums that there are plans for a second and third installment of this game, and was wondering if Microsoft will get to publish them as well this time.

Microsoft will definatly be the publisher, they have the choice first, that means only if they deny to be the publisher, they won't be, and you do understand how impossible that is, after ME1 selling like crazy
EA owns the IP now, and while they could allow MS publishing rights for the 360/PC, EA is free to do whatever they want with the games. They could port the original the PC (likely) and PS3 (iffy) if they want to.Vampyronight
Not really, there is a deal for ME trilogy before they bought Bioware

No. MS only secured the publishing rights for the first game. I think lems just need to accept the fact that Mass Effect is now a multiplatform franchise. It's anEA game now.IT all depends on if MS is willing to pay the EA price.I don't see why MS won't just buy EA. Problem solved. Console war over.
Because trust me everybody has a price tag, just EA is a pretty high one.
Honestly rumor mill says Microsofts great relations and money got EA to let them keep it exclusive, but it is EA so you really cant say anything untile ME 2 and ME 3 actually release.
But ME 1 is guaranteed to stay 360 exclusive and at worst go to the PC which was probably gonna happen anyway.jg4xchamp

Even though its unlikely that would be the worst thing to ever happen. Microsoft will have control and it will be close to a monopoly and eventually the downfall of the gaming industry. Let EA stay buy itself.

Nah, I don't think so. Nintendo will always be a factor in the games industry, but it would definately put Sony's balls in a vice. Exclusive Madden = Winner.[QUOTE="jg4xchamp"]IT all depends on if MS is willing to pay the EA price.I don't see why MS won't just buy EA. Problem solved. Console war over.

naw we already dont like them because they throw their money around. They shouldn't have to buy their way to victory.

It's the American way. ;)You have to assume EA will be the publisher until a formal announcement to the contrary is made. They own Bioware, so they're the obvious choice here. They are the default selection here. We'll need to hear an announcement that says otherwise before we can assume MS would be able to publish them.Dreams-VisionsAgreed.

WTH? It's business. EVERYONE buys and sells their way to victory.
Publishing rights aren't technically the same as copyrights dudes. MS's hold on ME isn't absolute at this point.Pariah_001:D please explain to us all how it works? Give details!
probaly microsoft the ceo of ea said bioware would act independtlyI've read in these very forums that there are plans for a second and third installment of this game, and was wondering if Microsoft will get to publish them as well this time.

i think microsoft has worked out a deal with ea they seem to have a pretty good relationship especially since they just traded executives
not to mention microsoft has a might big wallet

Jus because someone is given publishing rights, that doesn't mean the publisher actually owns the IP. Furthermore, publishing rights aren't forever; the contract's going to dry up eventually.

True.
Otherwise Gears of War would not be going to MAC. But MS published the 360 and PC versions.
