I am an avg. fighter fan. grew up with sf2 and I like dead or alive and will most likely buy this smash bros. game. But I have little expectations for it. I have never played any of the other smash bros. games. I know there are tournaments and stuff for the series. Just seems overly nerdy to be way into this game, but then again videogames are nerdy, but not smash bros. nerdy.
SSBM was highly underrated by reviewers in my opinion. And considering it's the best sold GC game with more than six million copies sold, Im sure a lot of people agree with me.
Even if this game would get a 4,5 it would still be my game of the generation. I understand why they gave Melee an 8,9 but I still play that game today.
Well that's like saying why is MGS4 hyped so much MGS and MGS3 weren't AAA. Smash is the kind of game that could be rated anything and it's fans are gonna love it anyway.
First off, Look at how hyped cows are for KZ2. Second of all, it's because their great games. Melee is how man years old now? And people still play it al the time, and it still sells.
because honestly....this is the type of game where people couldn't give less of a crap about what GS has to say. it's going to be awesome regardless of what some dinky little reviewer says.
besides....what with the recent events.... for all we know MS could be bribing GS to flop it.

If you have never played SSBM you should. It looks like an easy, dummy shallow fighter, but it can get pretty intense. First SSB game was good, though somewhat experimental. SSBM had a lot of refinements, I can't wait to see what this third part will bring.
Why is MGS hyped? Why is killzone hyped, ninja gaiden?
Smash bros, has so much more new content, smash bros has more content that ANY other fighter and any fighter will have, hell game probably has more content that 90% of games out.

Score does not matter for Super Smash Bros in my opinion. Same goes with the Timesplitters series.
Every game is absolutely brilliant and I will play them with friends constantly for years, enjoying my self immensely. The score never reflects just how much fun these games are which to me makes reviews for the game seem rather meaningless.

it has a bunch of new characers such as Sonic and Solid Snake. It has online. It has a deeper single player mode. So I can only think it will be better than the last one, which means AAA at least.
The main reason is that it will finally have online play which will make the replay value go threw the roof. Im also glad SCIV and T6 will have online play. All fighters should have online play this genereation.
