Fallout 3, New Vegas, and now Skyrim. They all have major screen tearing issues on 360 but 0.0% torn frames on PS3. The framerates are basically identical give or take a frame or two here and there, generally the 360 has an average of 29FPS while PS3 will be at 28FPS. So, with that said, why can't the 360 hold up a steady framerate with V-Sync enabled? I believe it's because the 360's tech is dated, It's a shame really, especially with the dragon battles in Skyrim, they must tear to hell and back on 360. Too much action on the screen at once, 360 can't handle it without tearing.

PS3 drops to 24, even 22 frames at times, 360 remains rock solid 30.

I think there is a small difference in graphics between the PS3 and 360. At this point I think it really depends on the Developer and how they make the game. Oh yeah btw, this will probably be a thread where people come in and ask why people even use a console. :|

For one the 360 version tearing is nearly invisible, i have never even noticed it once

Then 360 has double the resolution of PS3, PS3 version looks blurry beyond recognition, i can barely see what is happening on the screen with so much blur

Also 360 performs far better, PS3 frame rate is terrible at spots and has lag, but 360 is steady everywhere

So, blurry last gen picture and crawling fps, lag and bugs on the unplayable PS3 version or next gen looking crisp image and steady perfect frame rates and gameplay on 360 with minor unoticable tearing ?

I played Oblivion and Fallout 3 on 360 and honestly don't remember any screen tearing.x-2tha-z

Indeed, same for Skyrim, i have not noticed any tearing at all on 360

Only in some very fast racers tearing can be an issue, i recall some in Colin racing games for example, but in Skyrim is definatly not there

The 360 version of skyrim does have V-sync but it disengages when the engine is put under strain to keep the framerate up to avoid input lag from lower framrates,it tears constantly in these scenarios but keeps the framerate at a steady 25+ in the same scenario on the Ps3 the v-sync does not disengage and the framrate drops to 20 or less which makes controller inputs less responsive.

PS3 version problems are because the devs are lazy and 360 version problems are because tech is dated. So typical

A PC modder can increase the performance of Skyrim by over 40% because they dont have the programming skills of some amatuer PC modders.

They way the modders were explaining it, Bethesdas corner cutting and general lack of proffesionalism is more funny than the actual glitches.

That's odd. I recall V-sync is something that INCREASES screen tearing because it locks the framerate.

Indeed. Screen tearing happens when the framerate is higher than your monitors refresh rate. 60Hz = 60 refreshes per second, so anything above 60 frames per second being thrown at a 60Hz monitor/HDTV forces the monitor to show parts of two or more images at once, resulting in screen tearing. V-Sync prevents your framerate from going above your monitors refresh rate...

Well, let me remind you. Any building entered in Fallout 3 on XBOX 360 resulted in rampant screen tearing. You must not know what it is since there was screen tearing everywhere.

I fully understand what screen tearing is. It's one of the things I hate most in gaming. I bought Darksiders at launch and the ST in that game was atrocious. I refused to play it until it was patched. I'm not saying there was no ST in the aforementioned Bethesda games, I'm just saying I don't remember it.

No V-Sync gets rid of screen tearing altogether. I can't believe you're actually wrong about something
