Why are consolites upset to know PCs a better experience?

All I see is the consolites spamming negative crap insults about PC games and gamers. Any of them that know anything about hardware or games know that a PC game or even a ported version-

has way more potential for better graphics: resolution, effects, frames-per-second, etc

has better options for controls: can actually look around, run, and do actions all at once / can decide whether you want to use keyboard\mouse or any gamepad they prefer.

Plus the infinite number of tasks you can/will also be doing on the same system. The only legitimate argument any consolite can have is access to exclusives, which the PC community also gets their own share of.

It's like people hating sports cars because they drive an stock Dodge Neon.

@elessarGObonzo: Hhhmm.. better experience? That's an opinion, not a FACT. I have more fun and a better experience playing games on game consoles. That's my opinion. Many PC gamers feel the experience is better on the PC. That's their choice. Nothing wrong with that. It's not a fact however.

"Better" is subjective. I prefer playing on PlayStation but that doesn't mean I don't like PC. I'm actually planning to upgrade my PC when Star Citizen releases.

Console peasants be jelly of 1080p, 60fps, and mods. And no subscription fees to play online. And massive library of games.

so it gives you a better experience just knowing that you could be having an even better experience playing the same game, with the same gamepad, on the same HDTV through a PC?

actually all I see are PC people continually trying to claim some superiority, when in all obviousness, they paid for better hardware.

What platform offers a "better experience" is entirely subjective. The reason that I rarely play PC games is because I don't enjoy the experience of playing games on a PC. The console experience is more relaxing and fun to me.

It´s not just a better experience, PC has factually the best games lineup. PC is the best platform fair and square.

Hardware is always just part of the equation.

then run it from the PC to your TV and sit in the exact same spot with the exact same gamepad but with better graphics, smoother frame rate, and for many games: with added MODs. there is much myth it seems consolites are subjected to by the ignorance on many forums. you can build a very nice gaming rig for less than $700, you can hook it up to any modern television, you can use gamepads; any 360/XONE or PS3/4 gamepad plus the many PC specific gamepads out there.

so, besides the few worthy exclusive games I guess there's the not being able to afford a few more $100s that limits some to being a consolite.

$700 vs $400. Your numbers don't add up. Don't you compare like for like? Most sane people would.

I'd rather not hook up my PC to my HDTV. That's a hassle to me. It's a lot easily with a game console. A lot easier to invite my friends into the game if I want. I do play PC games, but I only play exclusive PC games. So the experience is better for me on a game console.

sane people are crazy.

and with all the added features and options, i'd say the ~$300 difference is well worth it. where are you going to find a really nice $300 PC after buying your console? of course if you have the money to spend it'll always be nice to have all available toys. but if we're talking dollar for dollar using the PC to game is a much better investment because of the lack of options with the console.

If you get a job you can buy things. How old are you?

Dollar for dollar then you compare a $700 pc to a $400 console. Logic fails

It been great talking with you (not really) im off to play Destiny. You might be able to next year.

That's pretty easy to answer. Is the hardware in your PC better then what's in the game consoles? There's your answer. If the hardware is a lot worse then what's in the game console, then the answer would be "No". lol!!

What option will I get over my laptop? Multmedia surely not.

Better graphics? Better performance? Nice, but not the all end goal for me and for 700$ you will not play many of the newer games and the games to come maxed out anyway.

Everybody on this forum and every person I know has some kind of multimedia PC/Laptop even many grandparents own one.

You dont build a 700$ PC for some multimedia purposes.

Wow!! Already having a meltdown and the thread isn't even on the 2nd page yet. No one needs to have a PC to have a great gaming experience. It's that simple. You can have a great gaming experience on an IoS, mobile phone or handheld system as well. It depends on the individual and what he likes to play and the platform he perfers to play on. No one is right or wrong for doing so.

No, you didnt say it and I didnt say that you said hardware is the only decision factor.

What I said is that you used hardware only to label PC as superior and thats excatly what you did. The poster you replied to claimed that PC people try to claim superiority with better hardware and you replied with "So you're saying PC is superior".

I know you just wanted to troll but atleast try to make some points because you played right into SolidGame_basic own points about PC people.

and with all the added features and options, i'd say the ~$300 difference is well worth it. where are you going to find a really nice $300 PC after buying your console? of course if you have the money to spend it'll always be nice to have all available toys. but if we're talking dollar for dollar using the PC to game is a much better investment because of the lack of options with the console.

You dont build a 700$ PC for some multimedia purposes.

don't get your theory. the $700 base is for a decent gaming system, not your average all-in-one.

My 1260USD PC is already 4x more powerful than the PS4.

4 PS4's would be 1600USD not counting tax or other fees.

My computer also has much better quality parts and cooling. It can also do much more than a PS4.

Was just playing Skies of Arcadia at 1440p. Decided to record it in very high quality and use virtualdub to compress it and upload to YouTube.

Consoles don't have the editing versatility on their own and the quality is much worse.

They also can't go back and play games from older systems with 1440p resolution and 8xAA+16xAF.

actually all I see are PC people continually trying to claim some superiority, when in all obviousness, they paid for better hardware.

So you're saying PC is superior

And you are saying that the PS4 is the best console ever made? better than SNES PS1 PS2 and so and so on?

Hardware is always just part of the equation.

when was this?

When you used Hardware as the only decision factor to label PC as superior.

Yeah...I didn't do that. I never said hardware is the only decision factor

No he said "some superiority" but then calls it better hardware. So he is saying that PC is superior

What platform offers a "better experience" is entirely subjective. The reason that I rarely play PC games is because I don't enjoy the experience of playing games on a PC. The console experience is more relaxing and fun to me.

then run it from the PC to your TV and sit in the exact same spot with the exact same gamepad but with better graphics, smoother frame rate, and for many games: with added MODs. there is much myth it seems consolites are subjected to by the ignorance on many forums. you can build a very nice gaming rig for less than $700, you can hook it up to any modern television, you can use gamepads; any 360/XONE or PS3/4 gamepad plus the many PC specific gamepads out there.

so, besides the few worthy exclusive games I guess there's the not being able to afford a few more $100s that limits some to being a consolite.

It is no theory. The only reason for people with an multimedia PC to build another 700$ PC is for gaming.

What are the features and options I will get from a gaming PC when all my work and multimedia is consumed on a Laptop?

The options in which DRM software I will have to use? Steam, Origin or Uplay?

The option to not to sell or lend games?

Okay, I see now that you could interpreted it it as such.

I saw a different meaning in that post.

Funny thing is that Emulation is one of the PC benefits that almost made me build a Gaming PC a year ago.

Console is a better gaming experience

  • More GOTYs
  • More big BUDGET games like madden, destiny . and killzone
  • Everyone has powerful system, on PC its less than .1%
  • Unified system like XBL or PSN, allows voice chat to all same service. More games too.
  • No hackers or mods, simple plug and play
  • No waiting for inferior late ports! Thats all pc has!

I have a gaming rig and a ps4 (loving Destiny BTW), plus many other consoles. I have an i7 3770 8 gigs of ram with a R9 270, so my rig is capable of maxing things out. I do like gaming on the PC, but I think I personally prefer consoles. It's all just personal preference, really.

"The only legitimate argument any consolite can have is access to exclusives, which the PC community also gets their own share of."

You do realize that RTS , MMOs , Mobas , Indies , "Convoluted" (old school) RPGs , "Empty Space Games" (Space Sims) etc don't count right .? Consolites have ordered to not count them . Only cover based action games count .

I can play most of them on my laptop or console. Only some Space Sims, RTS and MMOs with high fidelity (about 10 or so) are out of my reach without a Gaming PC.

@elessarGObonzo: Hhhmm.. better experience? That's an opinion, not a FACT. I have more fun and a better experience playing games on game consoles. That's my opinion. Many PC gamers feel the experience is better on the PC. That's their choice. Nothing wrong with that. It's not a fact however.

so it gives you a better experience just knowing that you could be having an even better experience playing the same game, with the same gamepad, on the same HDTV through a PC?

I'd rather not hook up my PC to my HDTV. That's a hassle to me. It's a lot easily with a game console. A lot easier to invite my friends into the game if I want. I do play PC games, but I only play exclusive PC games. So the experience is better for me on a game console.

A modern PC will hook up the exact same way a console will, 1 HDMI cable and a power cable and thats it. You can even boot straight into Steam Big Picture mode and it will be like booting into a console like interface, you wouldn't even need to use a keyboard and mouse at all.

@elessarGObonzo:

Its all about gameplay, and looking back at all the consoles released, the majority of the most profound game releases and industry refinement occurred on game consoles.
