Why are gamers so divided? Lemming,Cows, and forgot the other nick name. But Y?

I am360 and Ps3 owner. In the past I have chose sides, the 360 being the most, but a realization hit me. Do we do this b/c we truly hate the games on the other said console or is it just more fun to pick an allegiance and hate anything that comes out on our rivals console? I just was always curious. I mean it's so bad that I was at a party and I overheard some guy talk about how the PS3 is better and will dominate very soon. Is it so bad that even at aparty this guy couldn't contain his "fanboyism" and even in the face of defeat (Not saying that PS3 is being defeated) he's still has something to say. In reality we're all gamers. No?

Im a 360,ps3, PC gamer.

I tend to choose the 360/PC side only because i'm defending them from cows.

Me too. and then when MS has a awesome E3 conference the cows bash everything that MS announces.....

Because we all have different but very strong opinions. One of my good friends is a huge sony fanboy, and im a huge pc fanboy. Doesn't change the fact we have tons of fun gaming together. We simply perfer different platforms.

Why is it every week or so we need a huggy lovey "can't we all just get along" thread?

its called hate. i own a ps3 . but not a 360 and wanna know the reason i hate it... its because the 360 fanboys made me hate it. but then again many 360 fanboys hate the ps3 becasue sony fanboys hate the 360 its a ongoing process that will never stop

Fanboys are definitely gamers. Annoying? Hell yes. Non-gamers? No.

That being said, I'll never understand why some people don't find it beneath them as a rational being to be emotionally attached to a machine or to hate a machine that serves the same function as the one they revere.

People are stubborn and stupid. I am a Play Station fan but have a 360 because I play mostly multiplats with my friends. I don't care about which system has what exclusives. If I want to play a game for a certain sytem Ill buy that system. I have no need in bashing sytems, only games that suck. I don't laugh at people who own a certain system because 1 of their games suck. I laugh at fanboys who make really big deals about things that don't matter.

I wish there were as many people in General Games Discussion asin System Wars, because if that was so, I wouldn't even venture into this weird place.

me for real is that i really hate the 360 controller, therefore make most game not enjoyable for me at all, maybe i would have a different opinion of halo 3 if i was playing it with a ps3 controller

its never going to stop because not everyone has enough money for all of the consoles, so they choose some and decide to bash them.
