why are ps gamers praising all star battle royal but but hate smash bro's?

its tha same game....im not a fan of either period, i downloaded the beta [since i was hearing all of the hoopla of it being different]....not a fan, one of my friends plays smash bro's religiously on the wii......and there is no difference except characters, i would think if u hate one u would hate tha other too since theyre the same...

I like both, I don't see why people on here assume it has to be one or the other. Really if you like Smash Bros you will probably also like All Stars, they are the same kind of game after all. Only people that lose here are stupid fanboys who blindly hate on a game because they let their bias (rather lack of owning another system) get the best of them.

Only one's who should be upset are 360 only owners because they are the only ones that will never get a Smash Bros style game. It simply shows how weak the 360's first party is.

Maybe fanboys on SW, but if you look around elsewhere there is a lot of praise for this game coming from publications and the PlayStation community as a whole. Hell the game exploded in popularity on Youtube due to the beta being open to everyone now.

I love the Smash Bros. series and I've played All-Stars cause I have PS+ and I think the game is really fun. Haters gonna hate. It took Smash 3 games too perfect it's formula. All-Stars is the first in an inevitable franchise. Blazerdt47

There's a greater focus on combos than Smash, which is tied into how you get kills. If you're just shooting off supers, you're going to be wasting it against people who know what they're doing. In Smash, you just need to get in one good hit once your opponent's percentage is up, and there's no penalty if you miss other than leaving yourself open for attack. PSASBR is closer to traditional fighting games in that regard.

Also, because there are no kills by ring-out there isn't as much of an air-game as there is in Smash. Less juggling I guess is another way of putting it. And I guess you could also say the levels are more dynamic in PSASBR, but that's more of a superficial difference. Anyways, that's just what I've noticed from playing the beta.

Whatever, I like Smash Bros. and I like what I've played of Playstation All-Stars. They are both a lot of silly party fun with some of your favourite characters in gaming.

ASBR is just a cheap knock-off with Sony characters; it doesn't have the same depth or quality as Smash Bros games.

I can't say I like the gameplay all that much in Allstars. I only played a bit but it just doesn't have the fluidity of smash. however seeing Qwark get attacked by the hydra was pretty awesome
