Why are PS3 games so brown?

Resistance and Motorstorm didn't really make me even bat an eye, but after playing Oblivion at my cousin's house on his PS3, it's absolutely noticeable how much more brown everything is. It's like my old Mitsubishi monitor that I am posting on right now. It makes everything look redder than it should, because it's old and probably somewhat faulty. Before the patch for the 360 version the PS3 actually looked better despite the brownness, but after applying the patch the 360 version looks better by far and is much more colorful looking. Even games like Lair and Heavenly Sword, from what I've seen, look very, very brown. Why is this?

Somebody must have, cuz these are some brown games duder. Like 67% more brown than the leading console.

In Motorstorm, it looks like every course is near a leaky nuke plant, everything glows.  The cars glow, the people glow, even the very grass, and the ground glow.  Just look at the VG Cats comic, too many PS3 games look muddy and shiny.
