[QUOTE="Quofan"][QUOTE="Bread_or_Decide"][QUOTE="Quofan"][QUOTE="Bread_or_Decide"]HD TV sales are doubling every year. You have to basically HUNT down SD TV's in most stores today. DVD players started out the same way. Sure their are plenty more folks who have yet to own an HD TV but most people are planning on making it their NEXT Tv purchase. So this rise is going to hit a real boom VERY soon. Plus its a difference that you notice, not just in the HD but in the shape of the television sets. Movies can finally be watched in a theatrical fashion without black bars or with as little of it as possible depending on the aspect ratio. It expands your point of view in games. This is not a small leap, this is a huge step in televisions one that we haven't seen in a long long time. Its not far away either its already happening just look at the sales.

DVD's, HD TV's, its all the same. They take advantage of morons who are obsessed with technology. The only reason that regular people are buying HD TV's is because they will be made standard, but not for a few years yet. I honestly didnt care (nor did many others) about DVD's either, but I was forced to invest in them due to the fact they have replaced videosand thats how campanies make money. The only difference to me between DVD's and videos is the extra content. Thats about it. Its the companies who win in the end because they save money with selling a cheaper media format at a higher price.
Yeah because DVD didn't offer anything to the consumer right? Just smaller storage space, all movies available for purchase instead of renting or buying a VHS for 100 dollars. It didn't offer clear images, features, or films in their appropriate aspect ratio.
Hey...that computer your using..blah...just use a phone. You don't need it man. In fact..throw away everything in your house...you don't need it. Electricity? Fire is just as good man. Stop being such a technology whore.
Ive never had to rent a VHS. It wasnt forced on you like your making out. Youve totally missed my point, which isnt really surprising, I know how obsessed some people are with gadgets. I buy things for function. I buy phones to call people, I buy movies to be entertained, I buy games to have a good time and immerse myself in the gameplay. I dont buy a TV just because it looks prettier, because it DOESNT offer anything. And I will say this: most ordinary people dont care much about half the extra features DVD's added besides bonus content, which I already mentioned. DVD's were a small leap. You cant compare DVD's to something as significant a electricity. Same goes for HD, its much more of a gimmick and novelty than the Wiimote, which gets a lot of flak for being a gimmick.
And if money is such an issue to you like the renting/buying a VHS point suggests, wait until HD TV's become cheaper or dont buy one, because they can be pretty expensive.......im not buying one unless I need to, and trust me, I dont need to. I will be using a standard TV set to play my 360 when I get one.
You sir have no vision. I am glad people like you don't run most companies.
"Who needs an IPOD when CD's play just fine. Lets not release this stupid product Sir."
Here we go, its all about the businesses. Im a simple humble gamer looking out for my own interests. Im not anti-technology, I have an MP3 player, NOT a CD player - but an HD TV simply doesnt justify its purchase for me personally.....its that simple. It serves no real function, whereas the example of an iPOD does actually do something significant that a CD player cant do. You obviously dont understand that. And you now resort to personal attacks and insults because you cannot accept the fact I want something that benefits ME and wont buy the latest tech on everyone elses judgement rather than using my own. An HD TV, like ive said does not benefit me.....if you want one, thats fine, but dont get angry because Id rather save my money for something I want
