The userbase is not there.
Hardware limitation. Games require downporting which is more work, or might be too far advanced for the game to be made for the WiiU at a reasonable cost at all.
A combination of both pretty much. Make more money than you lose and all that.
The wiiU just isn't powerful enough to entice core gamers, the people who actually BUY games.
The core gamers will go for the xbox, and the crapstation will get the scraps.
Because multiplats sell poorly on Nintendo consoles. Thye only care PinkMen and shit like that.

Only if your core is the same games that were around 20 years ago.
Is the software/hardare not compatiable?
Jankarcop
You mean why ALL games are skipped ?
I cant think of a single next gen game beeing on WiiU

Nah I like that one.
Because you don't play games on the Wii U, it plays U.
Edit: Theres been quite a bit of discussion on the terms gamers and hardcore gamers. IMO, a "Gamer" is simply someone who is extremely passionate about games. It doesn't matter how often they play games, it doesn't matter WHICH games they play, it is simply someone who cares a lot about gaming and the gaming industry as a whole. Usually, I might add, they are well informed on it as well.
Cuz their not mario or dancing games?.. Nintendo consoles are usually the place for dancing games and Mario's, nobody buy a nintendo system for multiplats anyways

So wiiU isn't really for alot of major multiplats then?
Just a few mario and zelda games?

We're not sheep, so stop trying to bait us into saying something
We all know you want to just say the WiiU is crap, so just say it. No need for all this thinly veiled crap
Explains why games are being announced for ps4 and "unannounced next gen systems". You know, the systems without an install base. It's simple really. Developers have to weigh the cost to develop/port the game versus the potential profit form the known install base.
The WiiU install base is small... so why develop/port it if it cost more than possible returns?
That's why exclusives early on in a consoles life is so important, to build an install base so 3rd party developers don't overlook you.
Personaly, I think 3rd party developers notice that Nintendo fans buy more in-house games then ports anyway. Why make a game for a console when all they gonna do is sit on Mario and Zelda and never buy your game anyway? Who, other than die hard sheep, will honestly buy games like CoD or Skyrim on WiiU over other systems?
FragTycoon
Just like at wiii's fantastic 3rd party support.
If you already own a "nextgen" system(wii-u). Why would you buy another(ps4 or 720) to play next gen entries to the elder scrolls and cod series? You think people prefer buying another platform to play games on while their wii-u collects dust? The problem is that wii-u can't handle next gen games and 3rd party games sell so poorly that they don't ever bother bringing over last gen games(bioshock infinite, tomb raider, metro 2033, saint's row 4, etc.) that wii-u can technically run.

[QUOTE="clr84651"]
The Wii U is being skipped due to it lacking in sales & lacking in truly being a next gen system hardwarewise & it's directed at a different aucience than people who buy PS & xbox. Why would people buy the Wii U with so few games, current gen hardware, & has a stupid gamepad controller?! People can buy a 360 or PS3 that are better than the Wii U and have huge game libraries. The reason people buy new systems is for them to be technically advanced and have many new games to play on it. Nintendo F'd up big time.
clr84651
No one knows how powerful it is, but it is stronger than the 360 and PS3.
The point is it's no where nearly powerful enough to make people want it & so few games & it's nowhere near as powerful as PS4.
I heard of devs not even giving the console a chance. They pretty much at the hardware and jumped to conclusions like dice.Once actual devs try ot take advantage of the hardware in the console we will know how powerful it is adnd power won't save the PS4 if it pulls off another PS3 which is unlikely.

This. It's actually one of the worse attempts lately.Cause like the PC no one really cares about it. It's simply not the platform for people who like to play a lot of games.

Yeah, Mario is niche despite being the most recognizable video game character and sitting at the top of best-selling video game franchises... :P

Compare Sony console sales to Nintendo console sales since the PS1 was released...
Sony does not have well know first party characters like ninty. Most of the characters they introduced this gen will be forgoteen in like 10 years.
So what? So Sony has outsold Nintendo without a guaranteed system system. Just makes Nintendo look worse.

Wii was the exception to the rule. How many consoles has Nintendo sold since Sony entered the market? Wii U will be Gamecube status. Nice though.

Nice though.StrongBlackVineThe NES and SNES sold comparably to the Wii in their time. And the N64 and Gamecube both did over 20 million units. That is no slouch for any game console. And both were commercially successful for Nintendo. In business, making a profit is the number one goal, not winning a sales war.

Nintendo sales have been weak other than the Wii. Xbox division is about to pass them unless they screw up royally. One fluke success won't make Nintendo a top console seller again.
