Why are some people (mostly Wii supporters) denying this? I know it has a little to do with "opinion", but for the most part, this is fact.

The 360 had the best sofware lineup of 2007 -- and by far! Just about every critic believes this.

My only issue is that the 360 did not have the best game, nor did it have a diverse genre selection for its plethora of "good" titles. Especially when you include over-rated games like Assassin's Creed and Rock Band.

Finally, without factoring in exclusivity for your determination, I cannot concede that the 360 has the best library as an end all fact.

I can't let it go unsaid that your common 8.0 multiplat for the 360 should be considered as much of a boon to a library as an exclusive game such as SMG.

However, that said, I do believe the 360 had a slightly better overall library than the Wii, and a much better library than the PS3 in 07 for a few reasons, however, I also believe the Wii had a far better game than was available on any other system in 07, and indeed a better exclusive library than any system in 07

If your definition of best library includes, "AA-AAA titles counted individually, with no credit given for exclusivity, and no differientation assumed between actual quality of said titles" then yes, the PC would have the far and away best library of 07.

I think my last post was about as close to an actual answer to your original question as your going to get TC. I didn't post it to argue my logic with you. My logic is sound. I posted it only to answer your question, which I believe might have been a bit rhetorical and passive-agressive in the first place.

The short of it, is that many of us would rather play SMG than every game on the 360 back to back, and even fewer of us wouldn't trade SMG's exclusivity for your entire library of shooters.

Yes, the 360 had a great lineup in 2007. However, it would be foolish to discount the great titles that appeared on the Wii and PS3 in 2007, or to downplay the strength that both platforms have scheduled in 2008 either.SpruceCaboose

What was your GoTy?

Personally, BioShock was my GotY. SMG was second, after that, it gets really hard to assign positions.

yes, i played more 360 games by faaaar, but it was still the year of the Wii in terms of sales and GOTY... now there is no denying about that.

Most quality games were on 360, true. but i think you just want to hear what you said yourself.

The lineup in 2008 is like miles better as well, games like Alan Wake, Fable 2, project Offset, Warhound will have no equal IMO

Ok, the Wii is the number one selling console, and one of its games won GoTY on Gamespot; however, when it comes to games, it's the 360's year. That's what this thread is about.

In other words, just because a Wii game won GoTY doesn't mean that the Wii wins 2007 for having the best, highest quality software. That title goes to the 360.

they said it was wii's year. it is in many ways. that says nothing about the overall quality of software. as a gamer i played far more 360 then Wii. wii has only a few really good titles.

I liked the 360's lineup but a lot of the titles don't deserve such high scores... in my opinion!:o

See, opinions are different. We don't all share the same one. While I do think the 360 had the best lineup of the 3 this year, it wasn't as great as made out to be, and the other 2 were not as bad as made out to be.

i agree it did, but 07 is over, next is ps3! winner-ps3

Good for xbox. Although I'm curious how their line up stands if you don't count FPS games. I'm one of those guys who can't stand FPS games at all. I've hated them ever since wolfenstein came out. Call me kooky :P

I have a wii I'll agree that the 360 has the better games this year. That doesnt mean that the wii didnt have its own gems but the number of good games on the 360 this year outweighs the number of good games on wii.

I'm not denying it, but it is STILL an opinion since there is no universal system of scientifically calculating a system's line-up worth.

How much of it is an opinion if most, if not all, gaming sites believe this is the case? If anything, this makes it more of a fact than an opinion.
