I don't understand how Sony and MS are expect they can corner casual gamers away fron Nintendo. Let me list a few reasons why both Natal and Move will fail:
- Nintendo has already taken a solid chunk of the casual gaming market for this generation
- Hardcore gamers may own multiple systems; casual gamers usually stick with just one (Wii)
- Both Natal and Move are add-ons - meaning that the vast majority of 360 and PS3 owners are hardcore gamers and the minority have any interest in these add-ons. Do they expect the casual gamer to invest $300 for a system then pay even more for the add-on?
- The casual gamer will have to pay nearly double the cost of a Wii to play the 360 or PS3 counterpart. Most casual gamers aren't going to invest that much money for casual gaming.
Look at my sig, I'm not a Nintendo fanboy. Wii is fun here and there, but its not for me. I think it would be smart for MS and Sony to start looking in the future of how they can take some casual gamers but its too late in this generation to start trying to take the casual market share from Nintendo IMO. They're just going to be left in the dust next gen in terms of casual gaming.
