They're just as money cheating as Microsoft. They're a big company. So why? Is it because the cows think they actually care about things other than money?

Why... Hmn lets see:
Theyve been selling the PS3 without a profit since it came out.
They dont sell overpriced peripherals for the PS3 unlike M$
M$ generaly seem to want to take over computer and console market and make evreything pay to use...

Computers? Only notebooks i think and they are not such great there, they cancel to produce PC components long ago and Micro-Star International come to life thanks to that.
Because they arent making you pay for PSN and MAG, DCU, and The Agency are free to play :xThey're just as money cheating as Microsoft. They're a big company. So why? Is it because the cows think they actually care about things other than money?

First of all, M$ has been around A LOT longer than there was even an Xbox. M$ is an OLD TERM, and it's carried on and young folk never knew that. We are talking Apple Vs. M$ days.
Secondly, M$ is seen as a compliment as M$ knows how to really make money, Sony hasn't earned that moniker quite yet.
Thirdly, M$ did get in trouble with the United States Gov't because of a monopoly situation years before Xbox existed.
Fourthly, M$ has carried the tradition on with the overpriced accessories and business practices (Recharge kit, Xbox Live funny money points, Xbox Live Gold, WiFi, HDD's, Timed Exclusive purchases instead of more 1st Party, Charging for Mods that should be free, Raising XBLA prices, etc.).
Fifth, M$ is easier to type than Microsoft, and MS can confuse some, M$ never confuses. You KNOW who M$ is.
Sixth, M$ usually go for total domination no matter what the cost, and everyone knows what their goal is. They are seen as Suits by the public.
----------------
Overall, you shouldn't be offended, as it doesn't pertain to you, it's just a reputation good and bad that M$ corp has had for years and years, so don't sweat it. I have teachers that type M$ from back in their college days.
All Business' are in it for the money. So don't worry about it. Sony has done plenty of dirty deeds too, but they just aren't viewed as successful as M$. You take the good with the bad.
Heck, even innocent looking Nintendo has had various Lawsuits from suing Blockbuster for renting games, to keeping the Wii's Price the same this whole generation so far.
What sepparates them is SONY "PS3" actually is worth more then the 360 in terms of features. This is why im going to buy one in a few months and give my 360 and MS related things to my kids.
uhm let's see...they are both businesses trying to make money but to play online on one is free, the other is charged. One comes with a blu-ray player and Wifi at the same price as one that comes with an headset. One overprices its accessories by a ridiculous margin. Guess which deserves the "$" sign? They're just as money cheating as Microsoft. They're a big company. So why? Is it because the cows think they actually care about things other than money?

Just because a business runs to make a profit and infact does make a profit doesn't mean it's evil. Capitalism isn't evil.Maqda7Sure it is. It causes money to gravitate away from the general public and towards a select few. That's why I call it "Winner Economics" instead.

Capitalism is more about one doing hard work and being rewarded for it. Overpricing stuff and trying to control markets isn't defined as Capitalism even though of course it is one of the out comes that may come out because of it. It is one thing for a guy to come up with an idea and market it (and be rewarded) but it is totally another when a companies pure intention is to take advantage of a market (whether or not they came up with the idea in the first place).
To add, M$ (in terms of gaming) also comes from the idea that Microsoft really haven't come up with anything original in gaming. Sure, they have enhanced certain aspects in terms of console gaming (not all gaming, e.g. online gaming, since the only advantage 360 has over PC for online is that it is easier for the 'not so smart' people and in general provides better/easier usability) as well as make decent games... But they are purposely playing it safe so they can make a profit, and no... Natel is not original.
Okay, I'll temper my argument a bit so as not to steer the discussion off-course. But I will still say my argument has a couple points--(1) capitalism at its heart plays on greed but doesn't take into consideration that greed can be self-feeding, and (2) things can get too unbalanced to self-right (the "barrier of entry" problem when it comes to especially de facto monopolies or oligopolies).[QUOTE="Maqda7"]Capitalism is more about one doing hard work and being rewarded for it. They should be called -$ony. Because the PS3 is gonna bankrupt them  not to mention all their other failing divisionsNidget:lol:That was actually pretty funny.

cause unlike sony they dont seem to charge for everything..
M$ - charges to play online - forces you to use microsoft accessories (HDD) -from what ive heard make devs charge for stuff like that left4dead 2 fiasco and i think i heard something about braid cant remember. - rushed products
Sony - free online - most exclusives having dedicated servers , free of charge yet again.. - optional hardrives - 3rd party accessory support
and yes sony does want money but they dont try and screw with us at the same time.

Ah, Capitalism
For me, Sony offers free online, the ability to install any hard drive you want, includes wifi for free instead of $100, doesn't limit the amount of patches a developer is allowed to post, doesn't barrage me with ads, and lets you pay the exact cost of downloadable items. They're just as money cheating as Microsoft. I think cows were called cows. Because they were milked by expensive peripherals like a 30 $ memory card since the psone era. PS2 8 mb memory cards I have 90 $ worth of them because I bought 3. PS2 broke easily so I had to pay a hardware technical thing to do that. microsoft is doing this atm though. 120 $ for wifi. 100 $ for a 180 gb hardrive. It is all a rip off.
Before the price cut, they sold PS3's for $400 but had to pay a lil over $500 to make a PS3
I don't see greed there...
