Why are the PS3 exclusives flopping so badly?

Honestly, I feel so bad for PS3 owners right now.

The fate of LAIR, WARHAWK, AND HEAVENLY SWORD are now looking grim. Yes GS scores only matter, but from the reviews so far, they are not meeting the hype. Last generation, Sony was lining up phenomenal firsty-party titles, especially early on in PS2's life. But so far, this hasn't been the case and Sony's entire first year line up of games has been a major dissappointment. The only title left now to salvage Sony's 2007 fate is Uncharted and Ratchet and Clank. These two exclusives have the possiblity of being exceptional games. But honestly, how long can Naughty Dog and Insomniac hold up the Playstation 3 as it has faultered badly coming out of the gate.

Another thing that is just unacceptable is the poor ports like GRAW2 and Madden 08. These games are consistently scoring better and being made better on the Xbox 360. If you were to tell me this would occur a year ago, I'd laugh in your face and you'd get flamed to death by the PS3 fans. But now, at this day and age, I'm seeing a time that is eerily reminicent of the Gamecube. Just read the PS3 online forums, people are getting angry. Sony's GAMES are the biggest problem for them right now, and all they seem to be focusing on is multimedia features like PlayTV and voice chat. How many devices do we need for these things?

I always felt it didn't look like it was gonna be a very long game. Its a combo of to much hype and bad game developing....

why are they flopping? cuz theyre not very good games. and heavenly sword is fantastic, no matter what anybody says.ill take hs over mgs4 anyday.Big_T-Mac

that is correct, also you cant really say warhawk will get exeptionally high ratings thers no single player...... im still buying it though

Wake up dude BioShock is going to be the GOTY, and there are still other heavy hitters out there. Unfortunatly the PS3 doesn't appear to be getting much here, if any. How is 3rd gen 360 games going to get spanked by 1st gen PS3 games??? Heavenly sword isn't impressive, it feels like a modified version of Dynasty warriors...

BS! Did you see the awesome facial animations or the way you can aim with your Sixaxis motion controller. It has amazing graphics not possible anywhere else and it has innovative controls that immerse you in an epic experience that is destined for greatness and destined to be GOTY.

because Sony has forgotten what made the PS2 such a success. It wasn't great LOOKING games, it was great PLAYING games.

rushed hardware that is too hard to work with. Not as smooth as the 360....or its just bad developers..tacubano

i would like to know why you say the hardware was rushed?

It is not so much the games are bad, they seem to be OK. Microsoft went to Epic with a boatload of cash for marketing and begged for a killer app. They got lucky and hit a home run. They also got Oblivion in the same year and got tons of momentum. PS3 is still looking for that one big game. You can't just go to anyone and get that, though.

This year like the last, we will see a 360 GOTY, either Mass Effect or Bioshock. HS has been talked bout for having lack of gameplay and bad design before reviews or the only review was up. Just like Lair and prob warhack, people are hyping this games based on screenshots and not on previews on gameplay. Unlike this games and their reviews, bioshock and Mass Effect offer more than just pretty graphics...thus making them GOTY quality.tacubano

Plus the 360 games feel fresh, and not rehashed.. Even PS3 owners must admit oblivion was excellent.. Unfortunatly game wise the PS3's best games are going to be 360 handme downs for along time comming. The 360 is just a much more elegant, to develop for. I have a PS3 thoughtbluRay was going to win the format war, but recent news makes me nervious again. Sony has been a great inovator, but when they are in brass tacks competition they always seem to loose. There formats are more expensive, and usally only marginally better. See sony just is starting to realize that M$, and Nintendo have commoditized the hardware portion of the console market. It's all about software, and the PS3 just isn't delivering in that department.
