Command and Conquer, Elder Scrolls IV, Ghost Recon 2, etc. etc. you get the point costs $49 on the PC but on the Xbox 360 (and PS3 for that matter) costs $59? This generation is filled with so many hidden costs it's not funny...

Liscensing and Royalties are the reason why.

Last gen games were $49 though. The only time gaming was outrageously expensive was when they used cartridges.

I know what you mean... Here in the UKi've seen a PC version ofOblivion selling for £25 while the X360 and PS3 versions were £50 in the same shop.

Both the PS3 and the 360 have the exact same price point.

For Sony, it could be the new format, Blu-Ray being used. For 360, it's likely because the increase in development teams being used, and because of that it's likely the increase is due to that. There's liscensing fees, probably the fees one needs to put for XBL kits being used, or any other tools of that sort I guess. Honestly, I don't know, but I'm certain the increase in costs of development are the issue, along with MS charging anyone who wants to make games for their systems.

factor in that you have to spend at least SEVERAL HUNDRED DOLLARS for a gaming PC, much less to mention several more hundred dollars to upgrade the thing to play games 2-3 years from now.
