Because it doesn't say Final Fantasy on the box. Most Jrpg's that aren't Final Fantasy get ignored in the west.
Add to that the crappy reviews it's been getting. I'm loving it though. (just got to disk 3 last night)The main problem reviewers seem have with it are the Story and characters. I happen to like the story and characters. It's like a Saturday morning cartoon come to life:D
Ummm..Blue Flop...or Bioshock GOTY? Ummm...blue flop or...Halo 3?
Heck I'd rather get Heavenly Sword and Warhawk over that game.
I think Blue Dragon(and Two Worlds) both are targeting a niche RPG crowd. You know the one that existed before Oblivion made every gamer an rpg lover/expert?
I think while both games did not get received well critically, they both have been welcomed with open arms by people out there who enjoy RPG's of the more old-school, hardcore variety.
I'm ignoring it because their are better jrpg on the ps2. Not buying a game that flop.ninjiijitsuu
When they say jump, you say "How high?"
Because I generally dislike JRPG's. I'd probably be ok with these type of games if they would evolve, be less non-traditional. Basically I'd want them to not be JRPG's. Blue Dragon "does absolutely nothing new...old stuff". I can't stand that type of game design. Also the music is god awful.Banankraken
That's weird because apart from the boss battle music, i would say it would have one of the best musical scores in a game i have played, and many people who have also PLAYED the game have said the same thing. The music in Blue Dragon is one of the reasons why i love the game, this game IMO deserves a 8+.
Anyone who's interested in this game, but are not sure about getting it because it was rated solow here at GS should read Game Informers review, they pretty much sum-up why this game is so good and why this game should of gotten a higher score.

Thank you, Oblivion was a travesty to RPG gaming, not matter how well it was recieved. Fun game, but an absolute travesty.
I seriously hope the only reason people here are avoiding/writing offblue dragon is not its review score. Some games in the past have received good or even mediocre review scores yet are remembered today as being amazing. I believe earthbound was a game most critics didn't care about, but anyone who's played it nowadays remembers it as one of the best games to come out of that era.
Maybe you should pass on blue dragon after you've given it a shot? Try the demo or give it a rent.
Plus, supporting RPG's on the 360 wouldn't be a bad thing.. could result in more being made!
