ok, im tired of people coming here talking about other sites and gaming mag reviews everytime Gamespot gives a game a bad or moderate reveiw. Just wanted to know what do you come to Gamespot for? Me personally i dont even go on other sites im strictly Gamespot.
I've never quoted another mag / sites reviews but I do get your point. When people get "owned" here, their first reaction is "but but....this site gave the game *insert higher score here*. In conclusion, few people can accept when they're wrong.

Dude look at SW!! Whenever there is a post of new news on SW and they have a link its always to another site!! Whether it be brand spanking news or new videos of a game or up to date reviews. Its because Gamespot is horrible when it comes to up to date news, reviews and previews. Other sites do it much better but Gamespots strong point is its forum and forum community. Its much larger and much better. I am no fanboy and I take reviews with a grain of salt because I know they are just someones mere opinion and mine is more important to me, but I only go to Gamespot for their forum because there are people here who sift through the internet to find any new info on consoles and video games, and 9 times out of 10 that info was not given by Gamespot.

And thats the problem with this place. Its all about "ownage". Not enough people truly care about using up to date info to have intelligent conversations, instead all they want to do is make posts based soley of speculation or a severe manipulation of an article to try and own people.

Because of the forums. If you dont like that answer then too bad. I have been a paid member here for a few years now and I was here long before that. This place used to be great but the reviews, articles, and mostly everything else has seriously gone down hill. Their reviews come out later then everyone else so that they can undercut scores. They copy and paste reviews for games on multiple systems even if the game is drastically different. They do things for the sole purpose of causing controversy. The editors here should be fired and the system should be reworked. Until then I put no credence in their reviews or opinions.

i dont buy games based on reviews, i have bought games before that scored very low, i just use it as my gaming source, its my preference.
1) to save money by avoiding crappy games and their tricky ad campaigns
2) to talk about games with people who care about them as much as me. My flesh and blood friends aren't really interested in hearing about how I got level 3 agility in Crackdown, you know?
All of the above. GS is definitely my favorite gaming site. Also, system wars is by far the most amusing forum on the internet as far as I'm concerned.

Nope, I do exactly that and go everywhere for reviews. Their reviews I sometimes agree with but usually (especially lately) I've been saying "WTF???" when a new review comes out. They seem to revitalizing their hermit roots with an IMO excessive focus on online and achievements.

RPGamer, Kikizo, IGN, 1Up, NeoGAF, they all have superior aspects to Gamespot whether it be news, reviews, interviews, videos, or forums. The thing is that NeoGAF's forums aren't as active as here..thats one of the only reasons I'm not there instead (the other is the overzealous mods).

I agree, especially the causing of controversy and major fanboy baits that they constantly use in their news. Gamespot needs major changes.

I said reviews too, but when i click the bubble, im being sarcastic. Go on, look up all the ratings of games u liked and chech what GS gave them. I think ud be in for a couple suprises.
