who cares about blu ray HD is almost as goodGameslayer3
Yes, high definition is almost as good as blu-ray :|
1. Game library
2. Free online
3. Less expensive than most blu ray players
4. Supports 1080p
5. Multi-media device
Can any one give me 5 good reason to buy a ps3?yuku_2000
1. Bluray
2. Great franchises like MGS, Ratchet and Clank, GT, Final Fantasy, Tekken, and God Of War that you won't find on any other platform.
3.Free Online
4.Very reliable hardware
5.Future proof and will last longer than M$ 3 year console life cycle.
6. Everything you need right out of the box so you dont have to worry about 8 different consoles sittingon store shelves.
Now you have 6 good reasons!
The Blu-Ray player in the console is about the best Blu-Ray player and DVD upscaler.
The system supports just about all the great games from the PS/PS2 era and at a much higher resolution than on the original game console they were meant for.
All of the consoles comes with a HDD (including the lowest price version that was out in the bigining).
The six axis is the best wireless controller I have seen. Not only is it rechargeable but it's also very light weight and comfortable.
The way the disc drive is designed has been proven to be very reliable (just think about the CD players and DVD players that come in the automobile) they don't skip, scratch disc, or cause other problems even in the extremes they go through loike heat, cold, and vibration.
The PS3 supports most of the PS2 peripherals with an inexpensive adaptor.
All but the 20 gig version has wifi built into the system.
This is just some of the reasons to buy a PS3. These reasons grow as major firmware updates are released.
Apparently if you buy a ps3 it gives you the right to bash games that outscore a STRONG majority of the ps3 lineup (Bioshock)....so I guess that would be a good reason.

While your reasons may be good for you, they certainly are not good for everybody.
Use me as an example: If I have absolutly no interest in watching movies on Bluray. DVD's are going to be fine for me for a long long time.
I have a wired connection, which is superior in quality to wireless. Therefore the wifi would be a waste of money.
While i'll admit the ps3 controller is nice, I wouldn't call it the greatest. The limited battery life of the irreplacable battery is a tough blow. And the fact that they are releasing rumble-enabled controllers pretty much forces people to either buy new controllers or settle for an inferior product that new buyers can capitalize on.
While every ps3 version does have a harddrive...every current version is also more expensive than competitors. If a buyer just wants to play games than they are going to be spending far to much money on the ps3. The 360 core offers light casuals a cheaper option.
my reasons
1. Love the community, i havent run into to many jerks, and only ran into a handful of annoying kids
2.Awsome line up. All the games comming on in 07 and 08 are all my kind of games.
3. Games, not teh line up, but the games i used to love on ps2 are comming with sequals to the ps3, such as socom, ratchet and clank, mgs, killzone. Why not follow games you love
4. HDD
5. So much you can do on it
6. Free online
7. Online is as smooth as butter, i rarley get lag ever, even when playing with people in japan on rainbow(funny trying to talk to each other), playing with people in britian and mexico on resistance, or even playing games like motorstorm with all the destruction.
1)potential
2)Blu-ray
3)toddler tilt controller
4)Resistance and Motorstorm(zzzzzzzzzzzz)
ummmmm, ummmmm
5)It's cheap compared to buying two PS3s

If you can't find good reason's yourself you obviously don't want the system :|
Great Line up of games coming in 07 and 08

Wireless controllers with rechargeable batteries? yea the batteries on the Ps3 controllerare built in and can't be removed so now you are Forced to plug in a cable from your console to your controller for a trickle charge. No thanks I have a 360 controller and a quick charge station so my 360 controllers are %100 wireless %100 of the time. My 360 has never had a cable running from it to my controller now that's real next gen.

My PS3 only has a USB cable connected when I use some thing like the memory card adapter or when I want to use my PS2 headset.

Oh so you had to buy another peripheral for 360, wow what a surprise. On top of that the battery life for a PS3 controller is 30 hours which is more than enough time and I usually take the time to charge my controller when browsing and downloading off PSN. My controller is always fully charged and I too play wireless all the time so I don't see how ever PS3 player plays with wired controller as you seem to make it sound.
1) It has games that really appeal to me like MGS4, KZ2, Final Fantasy, where as 360 has no games im jealous of.
2) it has the blu ray which gives a great chance of producing brilliant games for the future, unlike 360, which has games like gears, and thats the best its gonna get.
3) Free Online and HOME (Which looks better than anything LIVE can offer and its another free feature)
4) Its reliable meaning 0.2% chance of breakage compared to 360'S 33%
5) Its a sony, which has a great track, record, and they know what there doing, besides i have PS1 and PS2 games im gona wanna play every now and then again, and it allows that compared to the 360 which cant

you can buy a charge station for ps3 pads, not official one's, but you can still get them.
do's the charge station have a wire, if so then while your pad is charging, it's not wireless. that is truely next gen.
I forgot to mention the included HDDIzzy12345

You have a fair point that the PS3 has alot more to offer than games, but for me games are premium and the PS3 doesn't offer any for tastes to make it worthwhile right now. However, next year there are a few I have my eye on (and not MSG or FF! ) and a price drop or 2 and I reckon I'll be joining the you in owning a PS3.
