Why cant PS3 owners come to terms that the 360 has the same power?

I mean lets be real here. You are waiting for a level of seperation that will never be there. It is called Ram. Also people say the PS3 is a blu ray player. Well I say the 360 is a HD netflix network at 720p. Ill pay 5 bucks a month for that, than 80 bucks for my cable. MS is now in the livingroom.

Yea, that's great if the processor was the only thing that matters, to bad the 360 trumps the ps3 in both the graphics and memory kit. So it comes up about equal.

Two very diffrent systems. Thats' what actually causes the problems.

Nothing is ever as simple as it seems. Espically when it comes to things like hardware.

Not really. Consoles arn't the same as Computer Systems when it comes to specifications. They are designed to be optomized for particular tasks, i.e playing video games. As such the hardware is quite diffrent, for a start, you don't need as much RAM with much smaller and simpiler operating systems.

I guess you didn't read the IGN review of HD netflix, they said it is lower quality than regular television. The same as with other boxes that offer netflix. You can't buffer the movie so the film plays at whatever resolution it can. Anybody who stops to think about it will realize t's just not possible to stream data over the internet and expect Blu-ray quality at this point. EmperorSupreme

The PS3 could get away with a slower data access speed if it had more RAM. I suppose the more data you load in to RAM, the quicker you can access said data. But I think eventually you lose the advantage anyway. It is however by no means the most important factor. The PS3s complex design is what really brings it down. To difficult to program for. Akward and slow Blu Ray fromat, and a specialised Aplication Programming Interface (API) with the cell, really make the PS3 developer un-freindly. Both of these can be countered, but it's a long, complicated and expensive process. Atleast that's the information I have collected I belive to be true. I'm no expert, but that atleast makes some sort of sense to me.

I guess we cant give MS credit for building a developer friendly software architecture for devs to use, cause I really never see anyone give them credit for that. That is what they talked about most at the inset of its 2006 release.

Because people correlate "The Cell" to that Dragon Ball Z character and actually think it uses cells to carry data at light speed.

I can remember reading about the cell processor back in 2002/03 thinking that it was made using cells.

Well yeah, developer freindly. Means the Xbox 360 get's better ports, or in most cases, the optimized version. It isn't so much them making it developer freindly, all they had to do was make the console right, more like Sony doing the opposite. But then on the flip side, it's not exactly consumer freindly with such a high failure rate. You should also see very impressive exclusives (And we already have) on the PS3 as a result, because those developers are more willing to optimize the code for the PS3.

The PS3 is largely the opposite in this case I suppose.

also, aren't MGS4, Uncharted and GT5:P the best looking game on consoles? the PS3 had to prove itself. it did. Now it's time for the 360 to prove itself again in the gfx department.

I just got a PS3 ( 2 weeks ago ) and it's definetely not showing better graphics than the 360... First, I've always herd that uncharted had these amazing graphics (the graphic king they said...lol) that nothing on the 360 could match... Now, that was pretty funny... It's not that it is ugly, and it actually has nice graphics but to say the 360 could not better it... ( While I was playing uncharted I was also playing Dead space on the 360... and that game, whether on ps3 or 360 is much nicer than uncharted...)

Second, I wanted to get fall out 3 on ps3 but then I learn that it's better on 360...

Now I'm not saying I'm getting red of it (of course not) but I just got that system 2 weeks ago and I'm still using my 360 more...

But Yes, I definetely want to try resistance 2 and Killzone 2 and Metal gear solid is the only worth while game not on the 360 as of today, great game by the way (cutscene a little too long)

Having said this, the ps3 has some good points: It definitely is quiter (much more). Blue Ray ( not tried yet though lol), I like the fact it has a web browser, I LOVE the remote control with my psp.

So, I'm glad I have a ps3, but seriously, if I had to only have one, i'd have a 360... But of course you can have fun with a ps3 too... I know, just my opinion... bla blabla
