Just been wondering this recently. Did something happen at E3 that made them stop letting the public attend E3?

Public can attend E3, you just need to buy a ticket, rather than just show up. The only thing you cannot see is the press conferences as they are invite only. You can watch them online though, so that doesn't really matter. It is just sitting in a room. People that go to E3 do so for the demos, and anyone can do that if they buy a ticket. BibiMaghoo
me and my friends do want to go one of these years and make a fun roadtrip out of it...any idea of how much a ticket might cost?

Is it just me or does that seem too expensive?[QUOTE="resevl4rlz"][QUOTE="CDUB316"]

Is it just me or does that seem too expensive? That's how these conventions are. They aren't cheap. The prices are high to keep undesirables out. Nothing would be worse than having hundreds of dumb gamers running around on the floor.

That makes sense, I guess it would still be cool to go once someday .[QUOTE="resevl4rlz"][QUOTE="CDUB316"]

Is it just me or does that seem too expensive? That seems about right for an Industry trade show.Public can attend E3, you just need to buy a ticket, rather than just show up. E3 is an industry event ONLY. The public cannot attend. You must give two pieces of industry ID to get tickets.

They did that a couple of times and it didn't turn out too well. Reporters were complaining about too many people making access to the game booths a real pain in the ass.[QUOTE="BibiMaghoo"]Public can attend E3, you just need to buy a ticket, rather than just show up. That is only partly true, anyone can apply for a ticket, you just go about it in a different way to industry members. Tickets are for sale to anyone, you just need to register. You do so here. : https://www.compusystems.com/servlet/AttendeeRegControlServlet[QUOTE="heretrix"][QUOTE="BibiMaghoo"]Public can attend E3, you just need to buy a ticket, rather than just show up. As someone else just pointed out, E3 is not a public event anymore and you cannot just buy a ticket. You must have valid registration usually associated with some company to gain entree. In other words, an average joe cannot just purchase a ticket. E3 was actually public for a very long time, they stopped because it was too big for its own good.
