I think too human was good. What they didnt get right will be in the next. allen1080Me too. Too Human was very fun. They should have went the WRPG way and made it more decision and morality based though. Side quests and a better "hub world" would have helped.

It was meant to be a dungeon-crawler WRPG in the vein of Diablo, not some sci-fantasy epic like Baldur's Gate meets Mass Effect.
Either way, though, I really enjoyed it.
Mediocre games release all the time; only some people care about. I think the common denominator here is that all of those games were hyped and more importantly, exclusive. Unlike a multiplat like TimeShift for example, these games games were eagerly anticipated not only by people looking forward to the game, but by people hoping to claim ownage when said game flops.
God, I hate System Wars.

Never said anything about sci-fi(Despite it being actually rather sci-fi) . They were touting on about how much choice you get, and how different it is going down one path from the other. However all it boiled down to slightly different upgrades. The hub world was extremely under developed also, 2 shops, and a bunch of NPC's. The game had so much potential in it's story alone, which we could have explored through side quests.[QUOTE="thepwninator"]It was meant to be a dungeon-crawler WRPG in the vein of Diablo, not some sci-fantasy epic like Baldur's Gate meets Mass Effect.[QUOTE="cuddlesofwar"] Me too. Well, I felt that the different cIasses actually played very differently, and each cIass, in my experience, played quite differently depending on what build you went with as well. I think that's what they meant... Not going to disagree with you on the hub world and side quests though :)Lair was a game that was different for its time.... that is why I bought it.... it has Great Graphics (yet some times, things do look ugly) but other wise it is breathtaking in certain parts... (the ICE level...it is just BEAUTIFUL to fly around in).... but the way you go about playing the game is where it goes wrong.... controls were not as horrible as some put it....but its just the pace of the game and the missions are awkward and can ruin the fun. Other wise...Great Graphics, Great Musical Score and you get to fly a dragon.....not to many of those.
its worth a rent if not a purchase if its on sale for like $15-$20.
also there is a patch to where you don't have to use the SIXAXIS to fly....you can use the sticks...
its sad that Too Human was a flop, but my girlfriend and I love the game. yes the game has its issues, the camera is not a problem for me, and the controls worked fine for me.
I am praying that they make a sequal regardless, but no word on a sequal, so i'm losing hope!
Sometime developers can lose the plot. I mean, look at Sonic Team...
I feel sorry for the developers of Too Human though... 10 years in development and all they get are lackluster reviews and mediocre sales.
Rarely does any company have a spotless track record.
Factor 5 had been remaking a similar game for years now with the Rogue Squadron series and tried to replicate that with Lair. The big faults here were not offering analog controls on release, the game's length, and the fact that the majority of the missions were rather similar.
Free Radical was moving at a decent pace. Future Perfect wasn't quite as good as Time Splitters 2 but it was still a great game. Unfortunately, Haze went in a completely different direction and didn't seem to be at all what they promised. The graphics were lack luster, the game was generic, the script was laughable, and there were so many small annoyances or bugs that it just wasn't worth playing.
Silicon Knights suffers from a lack of games in general. They've put out some seriously killer titles like Eternal Darkness and even the cult favorite Blood Omen, but they release so few games that it felt like they were retreading old ground with Too Human and still trying to live in the big days of Diablo.
P.S. Despite what I said about Lair, I personally really enjoyed the game at release, even with the motion controls
