I mean we would have Kameo 2 (Did not enjoy first but many did), Banjo trio & more perfect dark games and a lot more creative games! Hell if SONY bought Rare we would have awesome new games! The last good Rare game was Nuts & Bolt and that was barely! How the hell do you kill a creative studio like that? Kinect sports 1 & 2 :( I want some Banjo :(HoznaryGreat points. Sony would use Rare much better than Micro$oft. Steve Jobs said it best when he said Microsoft really had no taste, and they never innovate. They simply use their monetary advantage to wash out the competition. It's too bad because I know if Sony owned them they would be turning out AAAE titles. Oh well, Sony will simply dominate the market next gen and Microsoft will be forced to back out.

rare is just a brand, it makes little difference whether they get utilized or not.
if the people that were the backbone of rare are not there any longer i see little use in handing over the franchises if they are only going to get butchered.
Yeah it is now! But how can you just r@pe the creativity out of a team o.o?rare is just a brand, it makes little difference whether they get utilized or not.

Rare made almost no money at all on their projects and they were just coming from failure after the Gamecube. Kinect made them money. So just wait until next gen, especially since there are not that many people at the new Rare studios as Rare split before MS owned them.

ms paid 375 million for rare and then the talent packed up and left.
once again i have to ask, who raped who?

Which would have happened if kinect backfired.

The founders aren't even making games anymore if I remember correctly. MS zapped all the fun out of them.

:lol:who would be making games after that payday?
Because rare sucks, all the good devolopers left for free radical

And now they are part of Crytek...
It's an old M$ tactic they use since they exist. They buy off studios and small companies to destroy competition. When they buy a studio their intention is not to develop or invest in it but to buy their IPs away from the market and in that way have less competition for them to control the market. Another reason why M$ is a harmful company for a market. Too bad consumers are not aware of that and they support them.kuraimenalso they use the profits to ship truckloads of puppies to bill gates private skeet shooting ranges.
I agree completely. Where's banjo kazooie 4? Where's perfect dark 3? There's been a lack of new titles, where's rare when they've been known for innovation in the past?

He doesn't shoot them he eats them alive.
But in all seriousness, anybody who knows about computer history can attest that that's how M$ works. They haven't earned their reputation for nothing.

Right nobody is but in "this" market MS is the most cutthroat compared to Sony and Nintendo, least they put the IPs they have to good use.[QUOTE="kuraimen"][QUOTE="Riverwolf007"]also they use the profits to ship truckloads of puppies to bill gates private skeet shooting ranges.

Their haven't earned their reputation for nothing.so? nobodys hands are clean. Some hands are cleaner than others. For example most people will agree that CD Project or Double Fine have cleaner hands than Activision or EA. A conscious gamer will support with their wallet the companies that represent a better industry in the long wrong. But many people don't really care so it's easy for certain companies to take over. The ironic thing is that many of those same people complain about what the industry is turning to when it's too late.[QUOTE="kuraimen"][QUOTE="Riverwolf007"]also they use the profits to ship truckloads of puppies to bill gates private skeet shooting ranges.

Simple, they bought them so they couldn't make more awesome games on Nintendo consoles. Ever since they been with M$, their games have been Mehnini200
False.
I'd argue that the two Viva Pinata games (the actual ones, not that party spin off thing) are actually two of the very best games on the console.
Well, the first is on PC too, but TIP is 360 exclusive and leagues better. Only reason I miss not currently owning the console, tbh.
The Xbox brand has hurt gaming more than helped it. Thats why we have nothing but shooters and more casual crap. Sony is the only one left still creating new IPs for core us gamers (Beyond, Last of Us, Journy, etc). I wish Sega was still in the console race instead of this usless multimedia hub called Xbox 360..

This.
And I wholeheartedly agree that either sony (preferebly) or nintendo should buy them back (viva pinata with extra Wii U gamepad features anyone?) it's either that or MS needs to actually start using them for something decent, alas, these days the sequels you want never get made and the IP's you don;t want come back year after year....
Nintendo and Sony should just Buy Rare's old IPs.
They ain't doing anything with Conker, Killer Instinct, Perfect Dark, or Banjo Kazooie anymore.
So true, it's crazy how they just sit there and do nothing, new adventures need to be had with them.Nintendo and Sony should just Buy Rare's old IPs.
