Why did you choose your next gen console(s) over the others?

a couple of summers ago i had just gotten more into gaming and i found that i really wanted the wii, so i fantasised over it. then when it released i was crushed because it looked terrible. then i played both 360 and ps3 and i chose 360 over ps3 because of price, games, graphics, online, and just overall fun. then last summer i just got a wii because i had money and i was curious like most people. i am happy with my choices.

the 360 cause its everything a gamer could ever want

and wii i thought would just be fun it is but it needs some new games badly

xbox360- halo 3 GIGGITY!!!

i dont like PS3 games except for GoW

i just am not into the whole wiimote thing,

and i have a PC so i get the best RTS's!!!

I have a very awsome PC! :)

But I chose the 360 because:

- Great online system (XBL)

- Very powerfull

- It has all the games I want

- It's at a great price

360: released later in Aus than in other countries. 1 in 3 failure rate leaves me wondering why all 360s haven't been recaleld yet.
PS3: a cool grand is a rather un-cool price for a games console.
Wii: Not as many games I'm interested in as the PS3 but for far less than half the price it's a far better deal.

I bought a PS3 at launch because SONY has given me a decade+ worth of great gaming.

I bought a 360 because, unlike last gen, MS is actually going to have a decent game selection this generation.

I don't care about the wii, I just don't have an interest in their kid-friendly games anymore.

wii was the only console that offered an experience that i couldn't get from my pc.

Didn't have to choose. I just went out and got myself all three of them. That's how you do it if you can crush people with the weight of your wallet.

360 b/c it offers the biggest Bang for the buck and the library, both now & future looks stellar.

PS: With goggles in the off position, getting the 360 first this gen. is a no brainer and anyone who says they get the same experience and library of games on their PC has the permagoggles made mandatory by the system of their choice !

i didnt i bought all three. plus pc so i guess that is four oh and the two handhelds so i guess that is six. they are all good. some better than others.frankeyser

Wow, you're dedicated.

I will likely buy a PS3 because i like the type of games that appear on that platform. If I play shooers, I do so on my computer with a keyboard and mouse.

360.

Decent value for money / bang for you buck, plenty of good titles, and fair decent console only multiplats.

Kind of filled the void between PC upgrades, and allowed me to give some great console only titles a spin. Guess it kind of explains how I have bought 12 odd 360 titles in something like 6-7 months.

Last gen it was the PS2 slim at release, as it had the best lineup by far in comparison to other consoles, and was quite good value for money. This gen 360 takes the PS2s place as good value for money and best lineup by far.

PC still is no.1 in my priorities though.

After 3 deffective PS2s (due to the read errors) my wife decided to go out and pre-order a 360 for the launch...a nice surprise for me! :) I've had it since then and I've been loving it.

I bought a PC over the consoles this gen becuase with a PC I can do much more than just game for my money. I use it constantly. If I would drop $600 on a console (game, controller, system), it couldn't justify it nearly as much becuase half of the time it would sit there and do nothing.

Building a comp really was the best way to go for me. Also, PC games appeal more to me.

Well I got a 360 because it was what was out. I had 2 brick on me and I am going to use the money from selling the 3rd to buy a Wii if I can find on. To hell with 360. The games dont matter if they thing doesnt work.

My main console will be my PS3. Given the time to let developers get used to it I think it will put out better games anyways. Plus the Blu Ray storage is a huge factor for me. Making a next gen console use DVDs is like buying the new Korn Album on 8 Track. A few years down the road when developers start really tapping into the power of the PS3 and 360 that DVD format is going to severly hinder X-Box.

Heck the only 360 games I got on release was Forza 2, for 1/2 price, and Halo 3 tommorow. WiC Collectors Edition however I got on release - damn that game deserved 9.5.

Damn straight its bang for you buck with PC, all the things that you usually do - its always worth dropping in that extra $100 for a kickass video card, making your system a higher end gaming capable one. And even if you dont, the games are still damn great.

Game time is now even between the two, and with WiC on PC and Halo 3 (and Lost planet to finsish) on 360 - looks like it will still be even.

The reason I choose the Nintendo Wii is as follows:

I was planning to get a PS3, but when I found out it had a 600 dollar price tag, and few games that caught my interest, I decided to pass. I also wasn't getting much news on the 360 since I didn't pay too much attentionto it andI wasn't that interested in the first Xbox either. I wouldn't mind getting one so I could play games such as Gears of War or anything else that's come out, but I wouldn't die to get one either. Besides, I bought a Wii simply because it had the most games that I was interested in at the time, and I do not regret my choice.

I got the PS3 about a month after launch because I grew up with the PS1 and PS2, and both provided better game experiences than anything microsoft or nintendo had put out. The combination of pure power and a roster of upcoming games that sounded amazingI figured the PS3 was an easy choice, not for 2007, but for2008 and 2009, when developers actually start to make full use of the PS3's potential. That was my rationale... now I'm getting concerned... it's hard to remain confident when games you thought would be PS3 exclusives come to the 360, because you know the PS3 will then be left at 360 levels due to lazy developers, who might then just screw you by making a PS3 version inferiorto the 360, which is frankly insulting. The PS3 needs some exclusive games that are good enough to hold it over until the mid 2008 period where developers will have exhausted Wii tech completely and will be stretching the boundaries of the 360, leaving the PS3 ready for exploration. It will happen, if the PS3 cann hold on, it's just human nature to eventually move on to the bigger and better thing.

I also bought a Wii, but I predict a limit to the number of gimmicks possible will leave a system with graphics like a GameCube lite. I got it strickly for Super Mario Galaxy, Zelda and Metroid.
