i'd be really worried if i'm a cow. but i'm not. thank godBurnout_Player0
ha ha, me too. Luckily, I have a pretty, white 360 premium sitting on my tv shelf, that I got for $200 bucks at the microcenter deal last holidays, so I know that I will always get the superior version of multiplats (which, surprisingly, I own many more multiplat games than exclusives!).

why?
Playstation always had inferior version in multi-plat.
heck even Saturn had better multi-platform games in Grandia, X-men vs Street Fighter, etc.
You're asking why reviewers actually do their job? :|Ibacai
Yes. PS3 multiplat reviews pretty much all sound the same. They really should just link the 360 game review to the PS3 game title, and then in the actual review put a PS3 score box next to the 360 score box (with the 360 score being .2-.5 better than the PS3 score, like always). I mean, they are still the same game, but just that the PS3 version is inferior. EVERY TIME. (except for Dirt, apparently).
Why are Ps3 users cows and 360 users lemmings? What ever started that?Shade-Blade

Dude, a lot of the biggest titles of the year are multi-plat, every year. Think: Madden, R6 Vegas, etc etc. It's always the same.
Oh, come on. You're saying it like there's some HUGE difference in the gameplay. Problems between each are very minimal. Not that I'm defending either one, but holding up one higher then the other when they're same game just seems stupid too me.

But then you have to take into account that it doesn't work for all multiplats or ports (As you point out, and with other games besides Dirt). Also it has to take into account if the multiplats launch during the same time as that affects the score. Then you must take into account that the standards for the systems are different and that a multiplat that scores higher isn't always better. According the GS page about reviewing anyways. A lot of reviews are copy pasted between the two systems with just a few changes. No need to make it even that much more shallow. Not to mention the bias outcry GS would receive. It just wouldn't be worth it.[QUOTE="accameron"][QUOTE="ImaPirate0202"]Because I'm just dying to play skate! ...waitImaPirate0202

I agree with you partly. There really should be ZERO difference for multiplatform games. None. They should have the exact same graphics, performance, controls, etc. But for some reason, the PS3 falls short every time, and the 360 always gets the superior version of the game. Doesnt' this say something about the console itself? I thought that the PS3 was supposed to be this limitless supercomputer that will blow away even high-end PCs. Even if it is, it is still too difficult to program if they can't even make the multi-plats the same as the "inferior" 360.

Well I wish I could, but unfortunately I can't explain why they're is a marginal difference. But I wouldn't be so quick as to say that this justifies the PS3's inferiority. Take Oblivion for example, one of the few multiplats that runs better on the PS3. But I don't know, maybe it just takes more time and effort. If you ask me, I would look more at the game developer rather than the system.

Yeah, but this phenomenon is happening with games from EVERY developer, not just one. The only common thread between the developers is the PS3 itself. Oblivion had a lot of extra time to make it nicer too- in fact, I would be mad if the 360 version was still better than the PS3 version with all that extra development time. Really, when designing a gaming console, ease of development should be a HUGE priority. You can't get good games if no one knows how to make them.

Very true, I guess I'll just have to wait for COD4. I'll make my official judgement off that on whether the PS3 can handle multiplats. If they can pull that one off, then there's no excuse why these other ones fell up short.
It is ALWAYS the exact same thing- graphics are slightly worse on the PS3 version than the 360 version. There are slight graphical hangups on the PS3 version that the 360 version does not have. It might run smoother on the 360. Sound and presentation is exactly the same. Controls are better on the 360 version. The PS3 version lacks a couple online features that the 360 version has, but otherwise it's roughly the same, with the 360 version getting the better online designation. Basically, the PS3 version will be .2-.5 points lower than whatever the 360 version's score is. So why do they even waste our time reviewing PS3 multiplatform games? The 360 version is pretty much always the superior version, and gamers pretty much acknowledge this as the law now.accameron
Nope sometimes or most of the time Sound and presentation also SUCK.:(
Not enough Rams for a High Bitrate to the sound files I guess.
Wow PS3 sucks the big one...
OMG!! I MUST'VE BEEN DREAMING WHEN I SAW TEH DIRT, OBLIVION, GRAW 2, AND OTHERS PLAY LOOK AND JUST PLAIN BE TEH BETTER ON TEH PS3!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!??! WTF my bad???...???...???

Other than Dirt, Oblivion and GRAW 2 were both released much later than the 360 version. To be honest, with all that extra dev time, they darn well better be just as good if not better than the 360 version. In 95% of the time, though, my OP is exactly right.

Now it's 95%? I thought you said it was "ALWAYS"? Were you being a drama queen?
