Has anyone ever noticed this? You've ever seen a guy that plays nothing but MW2 pick up the controller and try to play Halo 3 or Killzone 2? It's almost painful to watch sometimes. I know what you're saying, they have to get used to the controls, but I don't think that's it. If seen Tekken players pick up Street Fighter and vice versa and can at least decently hold their own against moderate level competition. I've seen Gears of War players hop over to Uncharted 2 and just destroy peope after they get adjusted to the controls. Modern Warfare players on the other hand, can seem to adjust to any other shooter. Halo players can jump on to Modern Warfare and do fairly decent. Vice versa, MW2 players get destroyed. I had a buddy play Killzone 2 with me after he almost OD'd on MW and he was bottom of the list damn near every time we played for 3 hours straight. As far as MAG, I don't think MW2 players are even allowed to play that game since anyone caught playing MW2 style is usually booted from the game. This has me worried about Bad Company 2 as well, since its gameplay is very different, MW2 players might not be able to adapt. Anyone has a reason why does this happen? Am I just making stuff up? Let me know if you agree or disagree.chaotzu
I'm tired of MW2, I love Rainbow Six, but I'll admit after playing some MW2 then jumping back on Rainbow, I felt like a doofus! my friends and I kept chucking grenades at each other by mistake :P
It's cause MW2 takes no skill. You pick a corner and camp there the whole match killing people who come around the corner without having to move.93soccerYou just described all online FPS. Why single out one game?
Even though I really enjoy MW 2, its true. MW is a "kiddies" game. There is no real skill involved to be honest, and its quite simple. Its like playing Counter Strike without teamwork.
Games like Killzone 2 or Bad Company 2 are much better and require a lot more teamwork to succeed. Where in MW 2 a single player can turn the match, in the others, an squad can do that, which means that at least 4 guys are working in harmony.
Also, the killstreaks have gotten hideous and the glitches that take months to fix completely pulled me off from MW 2.
Oh please, like games like Halo 3 actually require skill. Revan_911It takes more than one bullet to take down somebody in halo 3, weapons are actually balanced. If you shoot somebody in the back in MW2 they're dead, in Halo 3 you have an advantage and thats it. Play against pro MW2 player and chances are you will lose, play agianst a professional Halo 3 team and you won't even get a kill.
MW2 is a fast paced game, unlike where games likeHalo and Rainbow six are more of a slower aspect to them. Not only that the buttons to run in MW2 are different in Rainbow six, plus switching weapons and so forth. Also after playing MW2 for so long and then going back to Halo for the first time after 2 years, you forget you can't run.

I'm not defending MW2 cause I'm sick of it, but you guys really need to cut it out with this kiddie no skills talk. give me a break
I've only really playedGear, R6v and COD (on hardcore)games and I'm good at all. Inever really got into the halo games I hate shooting entire clips into an enemy and they don't die. That is my biggest complaintin any shooter. If there is a FPS or TPS out there and it doesn't take a full clip to take someone down I'll give it a shot. no pun intended
[QUOTE="Revan_911"]Oh please, like games like Halo 3 actually require skill. Verge_6What did we tell you about commenting on games you've never played?
Halo doesn't take any skill, its kinda like Unreal Tournement, you are getting shot at you have time to react and move and halo jump around like an idiot and then shoot back. When you try this on COD on hardcoreyou die cause when someone gets shot with a machine gun that is what happens you die you don't continue to run around like it doesn't even phase you.

Did you seriously just imply that UT doesn't take skill? Are you wanting to get eaten alive by the PC community?Just because you don't die in 2-3 shots doesn't mean a game doesn't require skill. If anything, it just means kills are all that easier to obtain. When it takes more than a few shots to down someone, it means you have to take into account what your opponent can do to counterattack you, and how you can ensure that you survive that counter attack (if your attack enables them to counterattack at all). Wherein MW2, it's all about which person sees who first and who has the twitchiest reflexes. You're also confined to a small, confined battlefield, which makes kills even easier to nab. MW2, and its predecessor, are undeniably twitch shooters, and there has been a LONG since defined area where those things fall into in terms of skills.

great. im glad you cleared that upHalo doesn't take any skill, its kinda like Unreal Tournement, you are getting shot at you have time to react and move and halo jump around like an idiot and then shoot back. xxyetixxOther than the fact that you pretty much have no time to react in UT...you're kinda right.

That was organized when the game came out. For promotional and hype purposes. You don't see console FPS at real gaming tournaments like WCG.[QUOTE="Verge_6"][QUOTE="Revan_911"]

I would of thought that's a reason why Halo takes MORE skill than MW; in CoD it's basically who see's who first, as opposed to Halo where it's more about teamwork and using strategy to kill people rather than just pressing the trigger down for half a second and moving on to the next guy...I'd say Halo and CoD take two different types of skill; Halo is more about, as I said, teamwork and strategy, while CoD is more about being able to aim quickly.

Spectators admission is 10$ For 200 players prize will be 5000$ For 300 players prize will be 7500$ Entry fee 45$ This seems like a perfect way to get money out of little children. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=noPhzejfTpM Theres your Halo pros. A bunch of brodudes and pre teens. When is see Halo 3 at something like the WSG, ill believe that it takes skill. Just because it's popular and certain people exploit that , doesn't mean that it takes skill and that the players are pro. Doesn't Halo 3 have autoaim? Yeah some pretty hefty skill there.[QUOTE="Verge_6"][QUOTE="Revan_911"] That was organized when the game came out. For promotional and hype purposes. It's almost as amusing with your ME2 bashing attempts (which I rather enjoyed, btw), but not quite. Truth is it's just difference in gameplay style. I am generally really good at Battlefield games, but if I play MW2 for a while and try to go back to BC or play the BC2 multiplayer demo, I suck at first. :P
Same thing happens when I play MAG for a while and go back to MW2, or vice versa. It's just the way it is. At least for me.
Although it could be possible that you just know a bunch of casual gamers who've only ever played MW2 as far as FPS games go. I have a friend like that. He played MAG and got one kill and healed one ally through an ENTIRE MATCH, while managing to die upwards of twenty to thirty times.

I wouldn't really know if I'm playing against people who mainly play MW since that usually the only game they play. I have like 12 people on my PSN that only play Call of Duty. They play it for hours every day and somehow never get bored. Funny thing is they still aren't even that good at it. I mean if I played a game for a 2 years straight, I'd imagine I'd be pretty good at it
Once you level up in MW2 almost all of the guns have no recoil at all. It's scary easy to aim in that game. That's why general gamers/casuals love that game. Once you understand how to read your radar, aim well (which is easy), and learn the best spots in the map, they have fun trying to get amazing k/d ratios, level up and just play deathmatch all the time. I like playing games that actually make you master the art of shooting. CS:S had such a steep learning curve for new players, but once you were good at using all the weapons, it was very rewarding.
Btw, my roommate who loves mw2 and think it's the best game ever created (not a joke) sucks at aiming in the battlefield bc2 demo. He has an issue with no being able to control his recoil and he moves while shooting.
People love games like MW and Halo because they are so accessible to everyone and because they are the most popular. General gamers/casuals only play what's popular and nothing else. It's kind of like the same thing you saw with NFL 2k5 where it was clearly superior to Madden 2005 in many ways, yet Madden idiot fanboys wouldn't even acknowledge the possibility of another football being better, even "good" as a matter of fact.
