Console gaming has damaged pc gaming. PC gamers adopt "superior man" attitude to help overcompensate shameful reality.
In the old days, when pc gaming was good, I played many hardcore pc games. Halflife, fear, Soldier Of Fortune. Aliens VS Predator. Rainbow Six 6: Rogue Shield e.t.c....
Then the Halo came along and showed you could dumb everything down. Since then, easy money. Most single player titles created primarily with console in mind using the strategy of "make it dumb". Dragon Age 2 a more recent example.
Of course, consoles aren't primarily to blame. The rise of increased internet speed and the ease of "stealing" has justifiably made publishers ignore pc gamers unless it's a free2play, mmo or casual bejewell style title. These are viable on the pc. Blockbuster single player titles unless RTS are not.
Essentially, Consoles are inferior and easy LCD money. Much like the recently released Transformers movie. But, much of the pc gaming community are theifs who scratch head and get angry when the reality of the situation arises. Because sure, surely, surely, surely, surely, surely, surely, stealing games and not letting publishers make moneys, has no repercussions.
