I think this occurs because the Xbox 360 has the most PC-esque style of games with a plethora of FPS's. Also Microsoft has raided the PC library to stock the Xbox 360 library and has made every attempt to erode the PC to bolster their Xbox system.
So I believe many PC gamers dislike the Xbox 360 because of Microsoft. Ironically, they need Microsoft's OS to run PC games. Kind of a quandary, I suppose. It is also ironic that Xbox 360 gamers point out the fallacies of PC gaming, and all of those fallacies are because Microsoft has a lot of shortcommings in their OS. But they gladly buy another product from Microsoft because it "works better with games". That is, if you don't get the ring of death.....
Lastly, many PC gamers don't like what the Xbox 360 by Microsoft represents: control over gaming. Microsoft is on the verge of controlling the gaming scene and making it much more expensive to play games. In the gaming future according to Microsoft, gamers will pay for everything in their games through the Xbox Live marketplace. Want those few new maps that developers used to give away for free on the PC? With the Xbox, you pay. Want that new weapon for your FPS game you just bought? The game shipped with a sling shot, if you want the automatic rifle with grenade launcher, you'll have to pay $15.00 to Microsoft to download it off of Xbox Live.
Nice.
