Why do people call Resistance medicore?

people are saying Resistance had medicore gameplay but I don't know why apparently all of the major game sites didn't think so please tell me why.

resistance was over rated (on gamespot?) hey lets check gamerankings on that claim: 86.8 (gamespot: 8.6) perfect dark is 81.5 (9.0 on gamepsot)

Overated in general i meant. And of course thats me stating my opinion, im not trying to push it across as fact. I know the majority think Assassins Creed is overated, but i dont. Maybe the PS3 has lower standards in the FPS genre:P

Nope, you probably never even played a PS3, the way you bash it all the time...

It's got HALO rip off written all over it basically. Just another generic piece of trash FPS game. Why do devs insist on making clones of the HALO franchise with a twist. The whole meat head army dude vs aliens is getting really old now. And obvious. It's come to a point where you can just predict nearly every storyline in an FPS these days. The gameplay is just overly done as well. To a point where it's just boring. That goes for all FPS games in paticular, not just RFOM.Dahaka-UK

Why does it need to be a revolution in the shooter genre in order to be a good game? And on top of that, Resistance had some really great weaponry, stuff I had never seen in an FPS.

woh, im sorry, but even though resistance wasnt great, it was no perfect dark zero. Its an alright game, not speacil, but i mean its not terrible

art direction/texture design level design

Overrated yes but not to the level that PD0 was. PD0 was one of the worst games I have played in awhile. I dont even know why I let the gamestop convince me to buy it. Resistance had an enjoyable single player. I enjoyed the weapons and the levels. PLus the MP was decent as well. PD0 single player was crap. Complete and utter crap. I think modders in the modding community could have made a better single player. Though I know some people enjpyed the MP. I found it to be very lame.

Well to me they were both similar. Crap single player but good online.

Its not mediocre.. is just that is not as good as Crysis,COD4,Halo3 ect..

I really enjoyed the game. The amount of enemies to fight on screen was pretty cool, plus these were the most frightening aliens in a video game I think.

And the final levels were pretty epic with everything happening and having to defeat the Angels and whatnot.

It was a freaking launch title.

What were you expecting? The second coming?

You can't honestly expect anyone to compare it to things like Halo and Geow.

Resistance 2 is where you should start judging.

And I really beleive this will be in the high AAA's.

unreal tournament 3 on consoles suck....even though it's a console game basically....it's much better on pc... the console versions do not have a crouch button LOL like pc.

I dont understand why ut3 on consoles doesnt have a crouch button like clicking in left analog...on the pc version i use xbox360 controller and i just click in my left analog and i crouch anytime i want lol.

no crouch in ut3 totally takes away from gameplay.

I never bought Resistance...I just played the demo off of psn and never ended up buying the game. I just played time splitters future perfect till the online on that game went out which was like 7 or 8 months after ps3's release sometime in the summer. Then I bought Warhawk and then I bought COD4 so I don't think I going to buy Resistance 2 but FarCry 2 and Socom look like games that I want.
